How to auto kill hatches?

Recommended Posts

In my opinion it is better to let them hatch in deep water, like so: pdU1mvI.png

Otherwise, you can make the adults fall into deep water and drown using two horizontal doors on top of each-other, hooked up to a clock sensor that opens/closes them. The hatch will jump over on top of the bottom door, then the top door closes and pushes them down. Here is an example of the contraption from my farm:

Ok, if you got some time and want the full amount of meat (I talk about not killing hatchlings^^):

Just build a stable with a temperature above >>70°C and adjust the temperature based on the materials used to build the room and the gas inside, so your critter needs above 5 cycles to reach an internal temperature of 70°C.

=> I designed it as an heat sink, but it is still a way to auto kill hatches for maximal meat production.

[If you go for an heat death after ~6 cycles, you will need 35M DTU for each egg or 30s uptime of one supercoolant fed aquatuner.]

What do you mean? There isn't a difference in the amount of meat between a hatchling and a full-grown hatch.

Yes, a hatchling will provide 1600kcal and a fully grown hatch 3200kcal.

No, it seems it was changed so baby critters still provide the full amount of meat.

=> Letting the eggs hatch under water is an easy but not optimal solution.

As of the launch patch, this is not true -- both give 3200 kcal.

I didn´t test it, but I didn´t notice a patch note about the change.

[I have trust in your post, so now I would like to know when this was changed/patched^^. So if someone knows when it was changed ?]

i think you can heat up the meat and let them cooked

And the meat can be heated past 9K. :o

And be placed on rails

Wait, how do would you reach 9K in a practical way ?

A material can be an useful and scalable heat sink till ~1025°C (overheat temperature of an aquatuner build with thermium).

Sure, I can heat my meat up even more when I have access to a volcano providing the required heat, but this is highly target specific cooling and is not really scalable and we will not ever touch 3000k. [The same goes for the glass forge.]
