renewable chlorine without chlorine geyser

Recommended Posts

you can get rust from care packages from the printing pod

use a rust deoxidiser to get chlorine

of course you need salt

so if you dont have a salt geyser, this is not renewable chlorine.

so this whole post is useless!

as @Grimgaw said, you can get brine (and salt water too, i think) from the pod, so this post isnt useless.

here's the numbers:

for rust:

each care package contains 1000 kg of rust

for each 600 g of rust, you get 30 g of chlorine and 570 g of oxygen

which means, that rust will be converted to chorine at a 1:20 ratio

this means, that for each care package of rust you get, you can get 50 kg of chlorine

i havent calculated the stuff for brine and salt water.

even with a geyser, saltvine plant consumes way too much.  I think they need to rebalance it where wild version doesn't consume chlorine.  requires chlorine atmosphere but does not drain it.

currently with a geyser its not enough.   realize the geyser goes to dormant and my entire chlorine gets drained and we're talking 5 salt vines.

trying to make bleech stone with sneaky puff isn't even worth the trouble.

Other options:

  • Saltvines consume way to much.
  • Balm lillies just need a finite amount.
  • Gassy moos come at a time where there is no more need for additional power. (Just using them for the additional polluted water I´am able to produce using additional natural gas generators.)
  • ...

For me, squeaky puffts are still the best way to use my chlorine (if I got a vent).

But I don´t use them to produce bleachstone, I just leave all the bleachstone to offgass in the stable.

=> Chlorine -> Meat/Lime

the same could be said about dense pufft.   given the critter cramp limits on space, its better to use dense buff to get meat and get oxylite

the bleachstone has no other purpose other than fertilizing lettece. if you're using it to off gas chlorine-   you're actually getting LESS chlorine using sneaky puffs because they consume and poop half of mass.

If you don't fertilise lettuce, you want less chlorine.

In my eyes, there is no point in having bleach stone in the first place.

Spoiler

I play on the worst immunity setting, so there should be some use for chlorine, but I am able to even supply my lavatories with germ-free water without using it. (Just some chained water reservoirs.^^)

What can you do with bleach stone:

  • Run a hand sanitizer: Faster animation time than a sink, but the delivery and possible chlorine contamination make it worse.
  • Feeding it to plants: Just good if you want to make sushi. (Sushi adds the most kcal in the cooking process.)

If I got no need for something, I try to dispose of it in the least wasteful way.

=> If I would have a pacu farm already and were in the mood to make sushi, I would go and grow waterweed.

(But I am just waiting for a balance patch affecting the sushi recipe. Most cooking recipes add ~25% kcal to the processed food and increase the quality. Sushi, on the other hand, more than doubles the kcal count.)

No pacus

=> no need for waterweed

=> no need for bleach stone

=> Ignore bleach stone altogether

=> Think of leaving bleach stone inside your squeaky puft ranch as a way to half the food(/Chlorine) consumption.

The numbers are 450 g of rust/s and 150 g of salt/s, resulting in 18 kg of chlorine and 342 kg of oxygen per cycle, while a saltvine consumes 10.08 kg of chlorine a cycle

now with ethanol, they are dead
