Sheo
Hello everyone, I know there are already some posts about it, but I thought most of them were a bit over complicated for my purpose. They are all fully automated, except the animal caring part. So what do you think about it? Tried to build them as compact as possible. The pacu ranch is also the hatchery for excess drecko and hatch eggs. OxCD
Great looking ! May I see the automation and rail overlay for the pacu please ? The pressure plate are activated by the pacu ? Even it's floating ? But not when it goes on the waterline above, right ? Prince Mandor
What's the purpose of automated door in dreco ranch? If you ranch dreco for plastic, you can put hydrogen in one row more. So, drecos on the ceiling of mealwood part be in hydrogen. Also, if you ranch dreco for plastic, you can put excessive drecos not in water, but create another room with shaving station, filled with hydrogen. They can be shaved multiple times more before they die from starvation. And I also want to see other layers of pacu room, or some description - your design is interesting One more thing, if nothing changes, you will use grooming station more often than shaving. So, it is minor optimisation to mirror station placement, putting grooming near entrance Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/108310-automated-ranches/#findComment-1218330 Share on other sites

Prince Mandor
Isn't fish in left aquarium became in Cramped condition, if you have lot of pacus in right aquarium? This is one room, isn't it? Or Klei changed Cramped mechanic again? 1 hour ago, OxCD said: Great looking ! May I see the automation and rail overlay for the pacu please ? The pressure plate are activated by the pacu ? Wrong.(I think, pressure plate became activated if 'pacu' became 'fillet') Pacu counts cells with little amount of water as part of aquarium, but never swim in them. So, they always be in one of bottom cells, and one of press buttons will be ON Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/108310-automated-ranches/#findComment-1218345 Share on other sites
Sheo
rails aren't that interesting, one line for meat, dirt and egg shells out, one line to get algea in and the last to get pacu eggs to the top. One of the pressure plate is always on to show a single "grumpy not cramped" pacu is in. The top water level shouldnt be higher then few kg, so the pacu cant swim above. I dont need that much plastic, so four dreckos are enough, u could build the room much bigger for more, but for me: four is more than enough. 1 hour ago, JackOverkill said: can u share the saves ? ehm thats lol, tell me how and I will do xD Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/108310-automated-ranches/#findComment-1218360 Share on other sites
JackOverkill
you can upload the save files in here (there is a CHOOSE FILES option ). do you know where the save files is ? do you have more good tech like this this ? BruceZhao
There is a simpler way to raise fish. Fully automatic and save cpu because fish don't move. BruceZhao
It's easy. On the right side, it's a room. When there are 3 fish in it, the upper arm will start working and trying to put the egg into the box on the left. At the moment of grabbing, the arm stops working and drop the egg into the second pool, because there are only 2 fish in the room. The lower arm works all the time to pick up all the meat/soil/eggshell, and load algae. And because it can't reach the box, it won't pick up eggs by mistake. I'm not a native speaker, hopefully I make it clear. 8 hours ago, BruceZhao said: There is a simpler way to raise fish. Fully automatic and save cpu because fish don't move. But if it brings an egg again, is arm take first (older) egg or second? If this is random, egg have no chances to spawn fish until both fish dies. Then last egg became fish, and situation repeat itself, so there will be allways only one reproducing fish, not two Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/108310-automated-ranches/#findComment-1219771 Share on other sites
BruceZhao
Of course it works. I posted it on a Chinese forum a few months ago, which has been tried by a lot of players. The key point about the fish is to make sure the fish don't die together. For example, you can put an egg into the room at the first time, and the second egg in 10 days. In this way, after the first fish dies, the second won't die until it lays. And the situation you worried is OK. How many fish in the room only affects the speed of reproduction. If you want to speed up, just build a bigger room with more water and more space, and adjust controller. 1 hour ago, Prince Mandor said: It's genius! But does it really works? With multiple unhatched eggs, sometimes moved away before they have chance to hatch. If this build works, this means I do not see some important part of this technology And how you limit algae consumption in this design? Or two fishes eats fully? BruceZhao
One fish need 8 water and 8 space. I set 2 fish, so the room has 16 water and 16 space(include water). Is it the piece you miss? Is it the piece you miss? Not this. Fishes eats enormous amount of Algae. They eat more than they need to produce multiple eggs. There are some technics to feed them just enough to keep them bringing eggs, but not as much as they want to eat. This is why most designs have some clock linked to sweeper, or to door closing access to algae or to feeder. Do you use some tricks to reduce algae consumption?
