When I started this game I played in pause. I am very OCD and it use to stress me out about making a mistake in the way I planned out my base. I would carefully layout a bunch of stuff and then move to fast speed and babysit the dupes as they went. Haha what got me to stop playing that way was me and my friend playing “multiplayer” ONI as we call it. We both launch the same seed and have to take a dupe every time the printer pod goes off and pausing is not allowed. Whoever’s bass is in the best shape when we finish “wins” :wilson_cool:

can someone please tell me why they play on pause?!?

To build of course, as lag is dramatically reduced!

How do you determine when either base is finished?

Finished playing for the time being, not the base. We would only do like 30-50 cycles. I admit it’s not the most exciting but it was fun while we learned to play. At the time there was a good chance one base would catastrophically fail, slime lung out breaks and dead dupes everywhere.

I thought in the past there was issues with the game playing at 10x speed? Like gas calculations would be missed and electrolyzers would produce weird values, is this still the case?

Not sure if its still the case. For me personally, if its been happening, its not enough to throw off anything that I do.
