Pragmatic meals and ingredients storage

Just discovered a big time downside that made me go back to my fridge setup.

dupes sometimes grab too much for snack and leave them at mess tables after eating. But there is no setup to put them back automatically. It broke the elegance of this design entirely.

I used to have the same problem.  I fix this by placing sweepers in the mess hall to pick up any leftovers and return it to storage

I was at the edge of doing that, but I don’t wanna destroy the nice dupe artwork. Shame.

the design I showed solution to number 1.  for 2, sweepers work if you dont care about the looks and decor

What are sweepers? Manipulators? If yes, then when you place it in a mess hall, you lose mess hall, because manipulator is a production structure. Tried it yesterday.

game calls them sweepers in English version but that could be what translates in other language pack.  I would rather lose a few calories vs the mess hall.  they typically drop 100-500 calories and it just adds to compost for dirt

sweepers do not remove great hall bonus.

but sadly the loaders for them does.

 

Here are also some pictures! :) 

I like seeing the food and being able to hover over the amounts so that is why I build it this way. 

Also easy to automate the food and cooking ingredients of the printing pod if you have the loader sorting area.

World is a bit of a mess since I played it uncut on stream so less planning than I normally would have done.

Also should point out that the solar panels are not correctly connected currently. The battery bank needs to feed into the control unit next to the natural gas generators. Plan is to move the generators close to the battery bank next time I play.

Conveyor loader for food ingredients should be accessible for manual manipulation. A loader for meals - shouldn't.

I'm running into a problem where the dupes don't eat all of the food and it ends up spoiling in the great hall. This makes the setup completely useless for me.
