minespatch
So, I solved the hydrogen problem but now my dupes are getting suffocated by chlorine as I reach the 110 part of the game's cycle. My dupes are given a whole bunch of food so I'm good and stocked in that regard. Perhaps I need to use a air vent into a closed stable for a squeaky puft room? 6Havok9
You can use it to make sterilized storage rooms for slime or food, with sufficient pressure you can put slime in there, it won't offgas and all the germs will die. Or just pump it in an ice biome, it will liquefy pretty soon. The Plum Gate
Gas reservoirs are a good option. They can usually handle your stray gasses until you can sort them out later. They can hold multiple gasses, but they don't filter on output. DMW_MD
I'll second @6Havok9. Using it for slime storage works really well. You can also kill 2 birds with one stone if you plan right. As an example, my sterile slime storage is directly below my shroom farm. Since you can load slime from the bottom of farm tiles, I never get slimelung or po2 from it. For chlorine i make a big pincha farm and cooking station so i can store large amounts of food 100% fresh without powering fridges. old_fantom
Create a room to farm balm Lilly. You may need a little power to heat the room from time to time, or you can run a hot liquid through the room to get it to temp. 35-85 degrees. Plant the Lillies in farm tiles, not the planter boxes. then drop in a couple (all) of your drekos. You will, in short order, have an explosion of drekos. Balm Lilly require no liquid or fertilizer. A dead dreko is 3200 in meat. Mid to late game, this is a very efficient food source. If you can get Pincha Pepper going too, you will have BBQ like you won't believe. I use underwater storage for slime also, but THANK YOU for mentioning that pinchas can live in chlorine, I had totally forgotten that even though I have wild ones in chlorine, I have a huge room of chlorine all around that geyser that would be perfect for a pincha farm! I am so building that as soon as I get off work. The quickest and easiest solution to suffocating is as follows: If hydrogen is the problem, dig up. If Carbon Dioxide or Chlorine are the problem, dig down. These solutions assume that you're producing an appropriate amount of oxygen for your dupes in the living space. Chlorine on most maps is relatively sparse. Unless you've got a chlorine vent, you can generally pump all your chlorine into a single room, or just dig some area further down in your base for it to 'fall' into. The solutions above are all pretty good as well. Chlorine is somewhat useful for several different things.
