Why my auto sweeper is not working?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm new in the game and it's my second attempt to tame a metal volcano. I'm using LifeGrow's design with some bad and exagerated adaptations this time (in my first attempt the cooling wasnt enough and I doomed my colony with heat).

I am following almost everything of the design again, biggest difference being the extended cooling room only.

For some reason, the auto-sweeper inside the water tank isnt working. It was supposed to send the items to the inferior storage room, right?

I also goofed around in sandbox and still didn't figure out what is wrong yet.

I am playing the preview build.

Any ideas?

Both loaders priority 2.

First layer of receptacles priority 1.

Lower layer priority 5.

The lower layer priority doesn't matter at all. Shipping is like pipes, the stuff will flow where it can.

Loaders being higher than the receptacles in range of a sweeper will cause the sweeper to move materials, if the loaders' filter allows for it.

Having said that, there is a bug in the dev build that causes receptacles to stop working periodically. A game load, or rebuilding them fixes it.

Also, remove the link between the loader in the room with the sweeper, and the receptacle below it. Sweepers are smart enough to not ship stuff if the destination is within their reach.

Thank you guys for all the replies.

Yes, changing the connection between the ports had no results.

Interestingly enough, it would be the first package sent. It never worked. The upper sweeper is doing fine.

Maybe the fact it's under water changes something due to the version?

I built the exact same stuff before.

Maybe not exactly like this. Hooking up the sweeper to the shipping line does nothing.

Swap the positions of the sweeper and the loader in the middle room. Make sure the middle loader is connected to the line going down, and NOT to the line coming from above. The sweeper just needs power and reach.

Well, anyone has any effective design for this current build?

Shipping should work now. What other problems are you having? Other than cooling i guess? Seriously, unless that's a VERY anemic gold volcano (and not iron or copper) those wheezes are very severely outmatched.

Well, it basically destroyed my base in my first attempt with only 3 worts.

I am using 10 to see how they interact with this big boy.

It's brutal. I mean, I'm noob so it still seems very terrifying at least to me. lol

Eruption period: 54s every 913s

Active Period: 91.6 cycles every 144.6 cycles.

It emits 10.2kg/s at 2626.9 C

It emits 10.2kg/s at 2626.9 C

Thank you for the help. I'll see how the 10 worts do this time. I felt like 3 was almost enough.

I played 900 cycles after I started extracting from it. It became impossible to deal with in the long run as you mentioned before.

You need -124,529 long-term DTU to cool it to 100 degrees. As luck would have it that's only a little bit more than your 10 wheezes at 120k.

So - if the wheezes don't overcool themselves while the volcano is dormant (and I am sorry but am too lazy to do the math on that) you will be OK. The metal might be hot right now but if you give the wheezes time to counter the heat during inactivity/dormancy, it's pretty much the perfect amount of cooling.
