Cooling the steam from cool steam vent

Recommended Posts

I want to make a small room with wheezeworts and hydrogen to just lower the steam temperature to turn into water but I'm not sure how can I automated the heat transfer between the room and the geyser room. I know i have to use automated doors but does anyone know a setup doing this?

Put the doors between metal tiles, add automation wires and a temperature sensor in the geyser room. The doors will be in vacuum when open, preventing cooling too much the geyser. You an flip the doors if you want. usually I do it the other way in fact haha.

Hi. I would just build small room below geyser with 2 metal tiles connecting it (not straight below - just a bit on a side) placing wheezworts there to cool steam ( and water) when you have 2 tiles of cold-ish water steam will turn into water as well quite quick. Just set a pump with 2 hydro switches to turn it on and off when is enough water. Cold goes faster up and down - slower left and right.

This is what i did, it's super effective as you can see. Maybe a bit overkill with 5 wheezeworts

Ye I literally just have a single wheezewort on the other side of a metal wall next to the steam vent usually lol. Doesn't take much to cool down 'cool steam vent' steam, it's already barely past the evaporation point.

Using yours as an example I would have it to the right side of that wall next to the vent, change it to metal tiles. Box around the wheeze wort.
Then put a box around the steam vent with a gap for the water to fall down into the pool below.

You can also use diamond instead of metal tiles; seeing as there's literally no other use for the stuff anyway. Though diamond has the downside of looking ugly if you need to run a bunch of pipes or cables through the tiles.

It also goes completely invisible if you build drywall behind it. I usually build my whole main base out of window tiles so that everything looks like it's floating lol.

In my experience, you need at least 3 to ensure the Wheezeworts won't overheat eventually.  Granted, we're talking on the order of 300+ cycles here, at which point you can easily engineer away from that setup, but still worth considering.
