Their development on ONI has been buttery smooth throughout its entire lifecycle. I believe out of all of the companies up Klei is the most respectable.

To many bugs for that, from my point of view.

While I do agree that my buttery smooth analogy is a bit flawed, I don't quite see what you mean on the bugs making them less respectable when it's still an early access game.

If it would be a "creative dev" award, then yes.

Too many? Everything gamebreaking is being fixed asap. The game is early access and in development. Compared to other EA titles ONI could as well be release.

Not to mention all the free events in Don't Starve Together and a big expansion (DS Hamlet) costing so little I almost felt like I'm stealing.

May I mention rockets returning only partly, dupes stats being reseted, dupes couldn't leave rocket, fuel tanks being filled although the rocket is in space, fuel tanks expelling all their fuel when clicking on them.

I'm able to find more bugs that stood for more than 8 weeks before being fixed.

So Oozinator saying yes for creative devs is for that. Because the game is very creative and is a little gem. But best devs I agree with him, too much bugs.

They're not ignoring the bugs, they're actively working on them and that's already more than many companies do. Sometimes bugs are caused by totally weird stuff and under many different conditions.. sure rockets have been buggy, but in over a year I've been playing ONI I've never had something that'd render the game completely unplayable. The good old 'reload will fix it' :p With >1k hours I'm more than satisifed.

I mean, come on, even bethesda is in the vote, they released fallout 76 with the same bugs that have been reported in fallout 4 a few years ago and recently tried to scam their customers  You're more than welcome to vote for your personal pick, but I'd say Klei more than deserves it and it's hurtful to say they don't. ONI isn't their only game. :)

I'm not comparing companies with others. i'm just giving my opinion. It could have been way better and way worse. But multiple times we've had dupes carrying only micrograms and the game was "unplayable" for me. At least it was not enjoyable. So for a game, then it's not playable if the fun is not there.

We've had gas deletion for a while now. Not being fixed and no information about that. I'd say "Best devs" would have at least informed us of what the situation is on this point. But it has not been the case.

Klei is a good studio. They are good devs. But they lack communication. And for that, they are not the best devs for me. Still, I like their games and bought almost all of them because they're good at what they do and give a lot of fun for the money they ask.

I voted for KLEI!

I play computer games for more than 35 years now but i have not seen such a good performance a developer did as KLEI this (and last) year!

1.000.000 Thumbs up!

Klei, you are the best, please keep this good work!

Have a great holiday,

Greetings from Austria, Vienna

Thank you Oozinator!

I am here only to read. But sometimes a few words have to be spoken!
Honor to those who deserve it!
...also to this great community, its always nice to read trough this forums here.

Thank you KLEI for this (and your other) games!

I am a developer. However, I develop business software, not games.

Bugs are inevitable and pervasive. If someone says that they don't have bugs in their code, they are lying or are too stupid to notice them. (It is like saying their farts don't stink.) After writing some code, I would be scared of a clean compile the first time... because that means that the bug is in the logic, and not a typo that is easy to find/fix. That is how inevitable bugs are.

That being said, the best developers test to find bugs, then test some more, and importantly, have others test their code to find even more bugs. Then the best developers actually fix them. Most bugs are quickly found and fixed when reported, often taking less than an hour or two; However, sometimes even the seemingly simple bug will occasionally take hours or even days of dedicated developer time to find and then fix the bug. 90%+ of the time, finding the bug is the hard part, fixing is significantly quicker and easier.

Klei has done a remarkable job finding and fixing bugs. Don't be scared by the number of bugs either... Applications with a lot of reported bugs really just means that a lot of testing has happened. Also, remember, this is Early Access it is essentially a beta version that has not released yet; bugs should be expected at this point. (and quite honestly, Klei has done better with bugs than major AAA game developers have done on "released" games.)

One month ago, I nominated Klei for the best developer award... Yesterday I voted for them.

I'm also on the Klei Hype train.

Klei are awesome developers, as a professional software developer myself, I share Stretch611's opinion of them.

Their workflow on handling bugs is very well organised, and the fact they've been able to pump out regular upgrade with new content, while fixing the major stuff in existing content, and now going back for adding polish, they're doing an awesome job, 100 times better than many many AAA developers.
