ChickenMadness
Theoretically my duplicants can't leave my base without exosuits, there is only one entrance. BUT THIS IS NOT THE CASE.... When ever I save and reload the game half of my duplicants are outside of the base without exosuits on and they end up dying. I have to manually click on each of them and make them walk back to the base to put suits on. I have 22 dupes which is why it makes me want to ragequit and start a new game. I haven't paid attention to exactly what is happenning, but I'm guessing duplicants that were outside my base when I saved the game have their exosuits get teleported back to the exosuit docks when I load the game up again. I'm assuming this because 1) the exosuit docks never need to be restocked 2) the dupes outside the base don't have exosuits on 3) the dupes inside the base don't have exosuits on either. 3) there aren't any exosuits lying around on the floor outside of my base. 4) So I think any dupe outside of my base has their suit unequipped and taken back to the exosuit docks. Edit: 5) just realised it might be happening when the dupes are inside transit dupes when i save the game. 6) My dupes put on exosuits > there is a transit tube system they can only enter after putting on exosuits. outside of my base. Looking for ways to prevent this fuckery in my next playthrough. Only thing I can think of right now is putting a door on the exit to my base and only letting people come into the base when i want to quit the game. Then I would have to wait 1 cycle for all the dupes to arrive back inside before saving and quitting each time
Saturnus
Well. The tubular update was a barely functional update that have been needing an overhaul for a very long time.

Nitroturtle
I have the same setup, exosuits to leave the main base and transit tubes outside, and I've never once seen this issue. Very odd. Post a save to check it out?

I always have exosuit docks at the end of transport tube lines. It's not possible for dupes in my games to use transport tubes wearing exosuits so maybe that's why I don't have the issue. And it took a very long time locking my duplicants in a room to get them to put snazzy suits on etc. Even locked in the room they weren't putting them on. You might want to kill all the critters in each ranch if it lags for you once you load the game up. (hatch farm underneath printing pod, dense pufts to the left of that. Pacus in the cold biome to the left of the printing pod.) They are open both ways, and dupes can go wherever they want past your exosuit docks. Also, I'm getting 40 fps in the save without killing critters. But I'm also running an i7 8700k with a 1060 GTX. fishpear
Never encounter such situation, you can upload a picture of your base design and we can see why it is like that. Basically I don't think there still exists such bug.

ruhrohraggy
The real question is, why do dupes take showers with an exosuit on...surely not to just clean the crud off...

KittenIsAGeek
I've never experienced this problem, so I can't offer any advice. All I can do is talk about my set up that works. Not all dupes are allowed outside of the base. I have tasks that need to be taken care of inside the base. Also, some dupes are incredibly slow in their exosuits. So I have a door in front of my suits, limiting what dupes have access outside of the base. Two tiles after the exosuit checkpoint before airlocks, doors, ladders, etc. For a short time I had a problem with dupes skipping the checkpoint with diagonal movement, and putting two floor tiles after a dock fixed this problem. Multiple shifts limit how many dupes hit the exosuit docks at any given moment. 20 dupes? 5 shifts means that only 4 will hit the docks simultaneously unless other factors are involved. There may be more in their suits and outside, but this limits congestion at the docks themselves. If a suit doesn't fill up when it is on its dock, the dupe will take it off and continue past the checkpoint. What can happen is that if one pipe feeds 20 docks, the ones at the end of the line don't get enough oxygen to recharge the suits at the end of the day. It is important to make certain that all docks are receiving oxygen continually -- and that the suits that get used the most have a slightly higher priority. Sometimes it is better to have the suit dock next to the area that needs it. For example, I have a base where there is a transit tube to an oxygen-filled room adjacent to my puft farm. There is a single suit dock and an airlock leading in to the farm itself. Another example is where a transit tube drops into an ice biome adjacent to the oil biome. There are three suit docks in that room, before letting the dupes in to access oil, magma, whatever. Never make eye contact with a zerg que... uh, um.. wait, wrong thread. Suits are slow unless your dupe is an exosuit engineer. This means that having the dupe do most of the traveling while in a suit reduces the amount of tasks the dupe can complete. It also can mess with the dupe's requirements, like eating and sleeping. Double-check that your schedule allows for extra break times if your dupes are primarily within their suits. I had one dupe that would start back to base when break time hit and finally start taking the suit off just as sleep time was over. They would then turn around and walk right back past the checkpoint.. without their suit. IDK what else to say. This is just my experiences using suits and I haven't really had the problem where multiple dupes would skip the checkpoint on a regular basis.
