Oni Noob
I was trying to create steam for my steam rocket using the Liquid Tepidizer unfortunately there is rule where the water around the device needs to be lower than 85c Any tips? A steel pump should handle the steam you get from dumping water on the space layer. (When circuit is enable Tepidizer will operate briefly so just create loop of enable and disable) Spoiler This was done by just 1 not gate so you can improve this by using filter and buffer gate to create interval for it. Sasza22
My easiest design is dropping ice and hot regolith into a room (compactors set to sweep only). Make the floor out of metal and insulate everything (or better build it with abyssalite around) then just load the compactors and drop ice and regolith on the ground. After a while your room will have some nice 140oC steam. Also put a gas canister emptier in for that nasty engine that likes to drop the gas each time you cahnge the amount. I was going to do that but the regolith seemed to be -20C instead of hte usual 500C. Anyway, I had a volcano so that worked. DMFan79
You can also use a Cool steam vent, just insulate it and after a few cycles the temp will be high enough to keep producing steam. fredhp
My base has an iron volcano, so i enclosed the volcano with double isolation layers, PWater to cool down the melted iron. The resulting steam is collected to the rocket and the iron/dirt is collected via conveyor. Is not much steam, but works nice when volcano is not dormant. Just make sure that gas pump are made of steel or a more heat resistent material. ToiDiaeRaRIsuOy
Does the steam condense inside the steam engine of the rocket? My rocket engine is around 200oC due to regolith accasionally falling on it so the steam is heating up inside. I`m not sure what would happen if it got to condense. I'm gonna having a major problem if the steam condenses and all the fuel just leaks out. Gurgel
I just threw 40t of hot Regolith into an enclosed water tank. Got me easily past the steam-engine stage. I will be putting up picks once I am done. I got a nice little set up, but it requires quite a lot of time to get the pipes and such up.
