CarlZalph Posted October 19, 2018 Share Posted October 19, 2018 Collect ~5 manure around town and hand them to the crazy hat pigs who want it. Take to shovel market place and get a gold nugget. Find a cavern and mine the rocks and/or pillars and hope one pops out. I'm not sure if there's another route at the moment, I tend to do these two at the start since they're generally quick. JimmyThornseed Posted October 19, 2018 Share Posted October 19, 2018 I always just find the Hamlet right away, and start pickup up poop to get paid for cleaning things and handing it to the old lady pigs for another oinc. 5 poops = 1 nugget at the hardware store. It's fine as-is. Gold should be rare and something you want to get as much of as possible. A huge part of the treasure-hunting vibe is to get some neat loots. That includes relics, but also gold. So making gold a bit more elusive does make it a bit more special. TheCorporatePuppet Posted October 19, 2018 Share Posted October 19, 2018 No. Easiest way to get gold by using pen^&*%$ whatever its called in the new "treasure hunt" tab on the pig statues (mostly in jungle biomes) and the other method is to trade 10 coins with shopper for gold. If you know what you're doing, you should have an alchemy engine before it even reaches Day 10. This question should be posted on the helping thread. From my experience, if you don't get gold out of the Cave Cleft, you get a gem, which can be sold for 10 oincs to pay for a gold. You can also use the ballpen hammer on the statues that have a glint in their eyes for two pieces of gold (originally it was one piece of gold). Berries are a lucrative source of early-game income as well, and I essentially bought all my gold that I needed. There are also good all moleworm farms. I feel that there are more than enough avenues for gold.
