TheEvilMango
I have leaky oil fissure right next to my base. It's stats r 365g/s at 326.9 °C it erupts 600s every 600s. What's the best way to deal with it. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/96783-leaky-oil-fissure/ Share on other sites

Soulwind
In other words you need to thermally seal it off from your base before it overheats everything. Later you can set up some cooling to use the oil (or additional heating to boil it into petrol). TheEvilMango
Ok. I haven't dug it up yet so it isn't producing oil. But once I do how do it get cooled enough so I can use it for petroleum? suicide commando
Ideally, you'll want to set something up so you can boil the oil coming out, as it's already bloody hot to begin with, thus making sour gas, which you then cool into methane, before reheating it to NG. Glassyfo
Are there any recipes yet that use the sulfur from cooling sour gas? Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/96783-leaky-oil-fissure/#findComment-1097555 Share on other sites

Wouldn't it be much easier to heat it the 73.1C to convert it to petroleum? 2 minutes ago, bleeter6 said: Are there any recipes yet that use the sulfur from cooling sour gas? Nope. It's useless. Not only useless, but unless I'm missing something, it's not listed in the material lists for storage compactors so you can't even have dupes or sweepers move it. You just end up with a bunch of sulfur sitting in your condensing tank. Mullematsch
I like a tripe door design to prevent temperature exchange between pump and oil. Then you briefly activate the doors if the pump is cold enough to not overheat. Not the best picture, but kinda shows it: Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/96783-leaky-oil-fissure/#findComment-1097726 Share on other sites
