psusi
I have 3 glum pufts and all of these morbs aren't producing enough po2 to feed them. Why? Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/94913-morbs-not-producing-enough/ Share on other sites

Yea... but the pressure of the regular oxygen is half that of the po2, and the po2 is still under 1800g, so they should keep making more, but they don't seem to be. Put 2kg O2 on the left (or right) and PO2 on the other side. Let it run. O2 and PO2 exchange position horizontally only. Never vertically unless there are other factors at play. In my example you can see there's exactly 2 tiles of O2 and 2 tiles of PO2 in each horizontal layer. You can stop the simulation at any point and it will always be like that. But for the OP the result is the same as the PO2 doesn't exchange position vertically with O2 the PO2 will never sink. Don't know what to tell you, I specifically put pO2 beneath the O2 in mine to disprove that (you can still see remnants that never finished settling when I took the screenshot). Regardless, it doesn't effect the OP's problem of the pO2 not dropping down (presumably) because of the O2. Try again now. They changed the behaviour of how PO2 and O2 interact with the Tubular upgrade almost a year ago so I suspect that screenshot is from before that. psusi
Isn't that if they are equal pressure? If the PO2 is higher pressure than the O2, shouldn't it compress down the O2 until they are about equal pressure? It will still not make them exchange vertical positions as the pufts immediately consume the PO2 that is pushed down the room will always be (more or less) equal pressure. At the end of the day there's just not enough morbs I think. IIRC you need 24 morbs per puft now. Or something silly like that. How the hell are you supposed to ranch pufts without lagging yourself to death? Scratch that. Found the issue. There's too much oxygen in the bottom room. You can see that by the polluted oxygen pressure in the top room is 1142g/tile in the OPs picture. Morbs stop farting at about 1000g/tile. So the solution is simply to reduce the amount of oxygen pressure in the puft room. The pression of other gaz doesn't matter. Now @SamLogan is natively French speaking so a slight translation might be in order. What he's saying is the PO2 pressure must be lower than 1000g. Of course, there's always the Metal Refinery offgassing trick... It comes from my polluted water tank which has to rise up, move a good 6 tiles to the left, rise up the ladder, move to the left again into the great hall, instead of continuing to rise further up the ladder, so it seems it wants to go up and to the left compared to o2. As I said. PO2 and O2 never change places vertically only horizontally unless, and I stressed that, there are other factors at play which there is in your case. What happens in your case is the passive pumping of the dupes deleting oxygen and the polluted water tank producing new gas by off gassing creates a gas flow in your base. That has nothing to do with the physical properties however. I use the negative pressure that dupes creates (by inhaling a large amount of O2 but exhaling next to no CO2) all the time to predict air flow in my bases, and use it constructively. Especially Great Halls and Bed rooms are places where the dupes spend a lot of time every day in a fixed location so that creates a very reliable pumping effect. How does the fact that the po2 rises above o2 instead of going sideways on the lower floor to be consumed by a deoderizer there not have to do with the physical properties and contradict what you say? Deodorizers also create negative pressure. It consumes 100g/s PO2 but outputs only 90g/s O2. So it's basically an air pump.
