with the introduction of fossils, the late game became much easier to get to. I would say that a rocket launch on cycle 100-200 would be very doable

Clearly not, you have to :

- Have a stable base (oxygen / food)

- Reach the magma biome and visit it on the all width.

- Refine the metal, so you need a lot of coal and iron ore.

- Train a Duplicant in two T6 jobs (Exosuit Engineer / Tenured Scientist) then train it to become an astronaut.

- Build exosuit.

- Reach the surface.

- Setup the new station on the surface and unlock the recipes.

- Build the rocket.

I think for an confirmed player it could be done cycle 400-600. And for a normal player it's clearly a cycle 1000+ content.

I'm on cycle 300 exactly for my base and I wasn't exactly rushing it. I can't do much because the game crashes when I try to launch

it though.

I think you are biased in this by a low # of duplicants. The game scales quite a bit faster with high # of duplicants.

My current base has 68 dups by cycle 202, we have every resource exploited, bottom mined mapwide, top corridor coming up to 66% now. The reason we don't have an astronaut, is there was no astronaut in the EU update.

The reason we don't have the space-section all covered is we are making steel from slicksters, not fossils.

It would still be a bit of a struggle to setup the needed morale 31 though, barbeque only diet I think would go a long way though.

How do you feel that the oil boime is where the fossils will be and if if spawns in there with the igneous rock and you don't have any you won't get any fossil?

I only ask because I have about 100 more tiles to mine out myself.

He wants a speed run. In EU u can easily have all the techs done before cycle 100. The only time sink might be the training of dupes and for that, there are ways to speed that up too e.g. lock dupe in a room so that he only trains in his job. Granted I'm unfamiliar with the new content and don't really know how long it takes to train a cadet to 100% (I'm assuming u don't have to train an astronaut to 100% for him to do his job) but I an still very certain that launching a rocket in 100-200 cycles is doable. Might be a fun challenge, I might try it myself when I have the time.

I doubt existing Maps Will Be affected. Ive plenty of unmined igneous.

I have 3 options for steel (current stockpile 3200):

- Slickster eggs from mass co2 (ng boil, ruined by devs.. so need to stockpile co2 now & deconstruct My existing NGas plant & rebuild it for inferior petroleum (same % of co2 though).

- 2 pond pacu exploit. I dont like it & choose not to use it, but IT would work.

- debugmode fossil.

I was really hoping we would get more, not less, builds like LOX / volcano NG, & stuff.

But hey we got space Moos.

Maybe 100 cycle??

A way:

*Choice The astronaut form the beggining

*Rush he for Tenured scientist, then put someone else on this job

*Only do the select Research

*Accept every dupe (+/- 30 at the end??)

*Rush to the bottom for steel

*The Rocket destroy everithing on his way, so make him at the bottom

*You only need the steel for the telecospe protecion (or use the steam turbine for this?), and for the rocket
