How many Fert Makers to each Blossom plot?

Recommended Posts

So I've never had this problem before since I was using the Fert Makers to make NG.  Now that is nerfed, I just ran out of fertilizer and realized I needed the fertilizer makers for something other than NG.  I don't want to waste my PH20 however, so I only want to build enough to meet demand.  How many Fertilizer Makers are needed to sustain X number of blossom plants?

thanks!

One plant needs 5Kg of ferts per cycles. One fertilizer maker as an output of 72Kg(was like that in CU preview) per cycle. So With one fert maker you have enough for a total of 14 plants.

Assuming you can keep it well stocked with dirt and phosphorite every cycle

The only option seems to be Fish pooping polluted dirt, with Puff pooping Slime, that you turn into algae. Doesn't seem to require that many critters for it to be a  self supporting system.

I don't see how to create PW, in order to use a sieve to create pDirt, though while the map has PW that is another option.

Maybe if you have a milliom Petroloim/NG Generators and/or have 300 dupes so lavatory, showers and sink can create enough PW for a sieve based system. I always connect power generators to smart batteries and I just can't make my base use all that much energy.

And it needs 39 kg of dirt, 15,6 kg of phosphorite and 23,4 kg of PW per cycle. One lavatory with 4 dupes will produce enough extra PW per cycle for one fertiliser maker.

Link them to a small battery and a clock automation and Burn The energy. The issue is not how to use The Power but rather than how to get The gas

You can create polluted water by surrounding regular water on 3 sides with polluted water. Easiest way to do this is a + sign formation. You slowly drip pwater from the sides and pure water from top. Keep polluted water at the lower part of the + sign and the middle part is where water turns to polluted water

That got "fixed"

Well, I do use a sieve as dirt source. I have one and half fert synth (one running half the time) and I only need to process a bit more than 1Kg/s of PH2O to have enough dirt. If you have a slush geyser it's super easy to get this amount. Phosphorite isn't a problem, just mine some and get some dreckos. Here's my little setup. Not 100% automated yet, but once the dirt and phosphorite compactors are filled it can run for many cycles without management.

There are other options for making PW

If you produce a lot of CO2 use a carbon skimmer

If you ranch pufts use an algae distiller

I have a massive puff farm and it creates next to nothing in PW, the fertilizer is eating most of it and the 3 drops left can't even run a single sieve. Also it's really hard to create PO to run the farm, you are going to end up using the PW to create PO.

To create enough dirt with a sieve you need many sieves, because one sieve creates so little, just one sieve is quite a lot of PW pr. cycle you need to generate for a self sustaining system. At least without stupid stuff like creating energy and cooking the asteroid, without using the power.

My asteroid has ZERO free CO2, it's all getting converted with a skimmer and it makes no difference in creating enough, can't even supply half a sieve pr. cycle. I'm using NGG and Coal, so I create CO2 and PW.

Not until I started a fish farm did I generate enough pdirt.

Thank you, this is exactly what I needed to know
