[CU] Are Openings On The Sides Of Asteroids Suppose To Be A Thing Now?

Yeah, I am on the point of wondering, do i restart, or do i just carry on XD

Openings everywhere. Biggest problem is, that meteors "eat" top layers away. Geysers "hovering" in thin air. When game forces player to build a row of bunker doors, to prevent impact, it's a bad gameplay addition, even when they consume steel now..

i meant to say, "that was fixed in the latest update"

That's too bad, it's an interesting feature that to have an asteroid get destroy and produce some unpredicted chemical reactions.

Meteors shouldn't destroy more than they bring to the asteroid.

If anything it should be the opposite if you think it through. Things form in space by collision. If things would lose mass every time they collide...haha...nothing would have ever formed bigger than atoms :wilson_laugh:

Edit. Or some molecules :wilson_vforvictory:

Yet if's high velocity impact, you get destruction (catch this on Nile Tyson interview here @2:00:20).

He explains that people went to find the meteor (and juicy expensive metals coming with it..) in the Arizona crater but came empty handed!

I don't get it. Instead of talking about asteroids, science and the relation to ONI, you go for personal attack?

May be I should have go for direct scientific refs like Proceedings of the Geologists' Association Volume 122, Issue 3, June 2011, Pages 363-382 ?

I thought it was easier to watch 5 minutes of video instead. ;)

Second question to Failedraptor: how is it relevant than Nyle Tyson beeing Black ??

Third thing that puzzle me: did you listen or read the full argument he was doing on public versus private sector as leader of exploration?

From what I am aware, if a comet hits and with enough force it can cause expulsion of materials from the crater site (Usually smaller particles)

In ONI the biggest problem is that when the comets break they tend to drop materials a lot more than provide a solid block. If this happens more often than not, your going to be losing the physical asteroid but still have mass added just in a bunch of little drops....

I see no "pa" there happening, but you show clearly, that you took silk gloves off ^^

Not to me at all, but to Nyle Tyson clearely.

It felt to me like mentioning laws of gravity from Newton to discuss whatever ONI mecanism and get a surprising answer "Obligatory reminder that the Brit Science Man can be just as wrong as anyone else: * insert picture of Newton practice of alchemy here * ". It look weird to me.

How is this at all a personal attack?  Or are we forgetting that there are some pretty significant segments of the internet that hold NDT up as an infallible prophet of science who can do no wrong?

It's not.  That is a nickname he has gained on the internet.  Interesting to note that you would declare someone else is making a personal attack, then immediately fire one of your own.

Out of curiosity, is there a reason why you took this so incredibly personally?

My guess it's a cultural thing, I did not perceive the skin color mention at all the same way (= why mention it?), a political sensitivity as well (= fed up with the private sector glorification) and finally my surprise as your post look upside down, go for the man, not the content. Hence my question about you aware of his position on who lead (space but not only) exploration?

Anyway, my reaction was epidermic, and I could be very wrong (so can be N.T. of course, but far less often !).

If you believe what private companies are doing is leading frontier... I have a bridge to sell.

Neil is absolutely right
