Endless night mode? /dream

It's a bug, every digable tile seems to be rendered black, but nice looking!!!!!""§"§$"
(I started a new base with this upgrade, after i came around that screenshot, because i thought light was implemented)..

I would love to see the game running with more contrast and realism in the lighting. Making light systems a mechanic for the player to really consider.

Is this something that could be modded?

"Realism in the lighting" is more of a description than an actual feature. Even if light and dark had more drastic effects on duplicants it would be kind of awkward with the tools we have now, because the only light sources you can build are static and small. The act of mining also emits some light. Ofc you could flood your asteroid with star light but that wouldn't really be fun or even feasable. It's just a lot from a modding standpoint at this stage IMO.

Great idea with the headlamps! Another idea would be if dupes could pet shinebugs so one would follow him and light his way.

I would like if the devs would implement the Darkness! Idk why but it looks just so cool not seeing "everything ". It just feels more like "hey, we're stuck inside an asteroid "

Exactly. It must be dark down there in those caves.

I was thinking some kind of shader post processing dll hack but I don't know if anything like that is even possible with Unity games and the way the game is rendered.

Dude, I'm still not gonna lie,

This looks dope.

I'd LOOOVE it if Ranchers had an innate quality that would cause befriended critters to follow them around. We could have shine bug training!

And it was at that moment, for a split second...that my brain thought that was an option to have night mode permanently turned on for this site.

So I clicked it...and then it registered with me what had just happened. :wilson_facepalm:
