Please note the pipe running offscreen to the bottom right is the overflow sending excess polluted water to storage for later use. The reason this works is that anytime a bridge or valve comes off a pipe, the liquid or gas will always use the bridge first so all polluted water will try to go to the sieve first and only what won't fit into the piping will continue down to the storage chamber. And yes, at some point I'll probably have to deal with the germs too but for now, this works really well. Hide contents Excellent setup. The only possible problems I can see is in the event of a power failure, the sieve will not function, and within a cycle of power outage you'd have no toilets, possibly causing a death spiral of other problems. Same issue if you run out of sand, or sand delivery is interrupted for some reason. FIXBUGFIXBUGFIX
An odd trick just for fun When a wheezewort is planted, it's always 20℃. With player's order auto sweeper can plant wheezeworts automatically. When wheezeworts are submerged in liquid, they will uproot themselves automatically. -120w power, numberless planting orders, 30 tons crude oil, -8℃/cycle, Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/90258-how-do-you-cool-a-steam-geyser-now/page/2/#findComment-1030813 Share on other sites

You are correct that brown outs can be troublesome. monster3d2015
I am trying to cool my sleet wheat farm with a conveyor radiator but I want to stop it when the temp reaches a certain point. How do I do this without having something to shut down? I think I know where your going with this though. I have one aetn left perhaps I should use that and stop the hydrogen flow at a certain temp? No direct way to do it with the conveyor though? It's unlikely you'll get close to that temp Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/90258-how-do-you-cool-a-steam-geyser-now/page/2/#findComment-1030881 Share on other sites

Which melts at 76.9? Are you having any issues with it melting? EDIT: Okay I finally found the place in the wiki and it says they are metal, no plastic, despite their appearance. So no issues on melting I'm assuming. Do we have a way to cool prior to late game? Honestly I've played 1,000s of cycles and never used conveyors so I'm not familiar. Conveyors run on rails and the bridges can be made out of any building material (granite, for example). No plastics necessary. Also, prior to late game, I use a lot of 'fixed thermal output' tricks to keep things cool. Carnis
You can setup a diamond or Copper or any conductive material tempshift platet partly submerged on water. This Will move heat from Steam to water and The higher volume water always wins condensing the steam. I have tried using an aetn but as soon as the hydrogen gas gets into the radiant pipe section it becomes the temp of the steam within like 2 or 3 tiles of pipe and it never cools down this way. My method has been a LARGE container, abysilite, with some open vents to let out a little surplus. 2 wheezeworts to 'guard' the vent room to make the liquid drop back through mesh tiles. Pumps at the bottom to pump some of the water off into a cooling pond. My last build had 2 at other ends of the same biome, so they got a nice long container to fit them both. Mostly, the key is size, no more tiny 7x7 cubicles for steam vents. I think mine was maybe 22x100 or so, the escaping steam cooled by weezeworts means the pumps keep getting the hot water. I dont think they ever went over pressure (though some dupes got scalded a few times in construction, I never lost any). cpy
I want to poke a hole through asteroid and put some heat radiator there.
