Tasks to Do Per Day In DST

Recommended Posts

I’m still a rookie to the game but I’m learning fast thanks to the community . Most of my question alway get answered. I was wondering what to do per day in Don’t Strave Together? This is the type of game that doesn’t give any tutorial and the new player just head straight in. For newer player. This may be confusing since they may be confuse what to do. I’m on day 120+ ( my first player though that I have actually manage to survived this long ) and I seem lost as to what to do. I was wondering if someone can suggest what to do per day. Like what we are suppose to have by certain day like for example ,” You Must Explored The Whole Map By Day 40” or something like that. I’m sure this will help me and other new player as do what to do. I seen other players , the people who know what their doing is way more advanced than me in day 120+ . I know this may ruin the fun but I just want to have a clue of what we should accomplish by current day.

Thank You - Lemon

Well, DST is one of those games where a lot of the fun is coming up with your own projects to do. The only things you absolutely 'have' to do every day is what's required to stay alive. After that, you're pretty much free to do what you like.

I recommend giving yourself goals to work towards. This could be building up your base and making it look nice with organization and various flooring. Preparing for and killing any of the bosses of the game, such as the Dragonfly. You could try your hand at taming a beefalo and saddling him to ride. One thing I actually enjoy doing is trying to prototype literally every single item possible. You could always finish exploring the world and caves if you haven't already or even something as simple as resource hunting and filling chests with necessary materials you always need, such as rocks and wood.

Another thing I also enjoy doing is getting my friendly resident Glommer at Glommer's Statue (if you haven't already) and collecting 9 blue gems by digging up graves and killing blue hounds to turn Chester into Snow Chester during a full moon. These are short term goals but it can give you something to do when you're fumbling for ideas.

In a nutshell, you've pretty much only 'won' the game once you've accomplished everything you set out to do. Until then, keep working on anything and everything you like.

Edit: Oh, another idea that I completely forgot to mention is trying to farm a Krampus Sack. There's a lot of ways to do this and some characters can do it easier than others, but one way I like that is universally viable for every character is planting a large flower garden (capturing butterflies with a bug net and planting them) and once you have about 20-30 flowers, simply hunt the butterflies that spawn during the day. Not only will this give you a near endless supply of great food and healing with butterfly wings, it can look very aesthetically pleasing and can easily spawn Krampus after a bit of butterfly genocide :)

I like to explore the map outlines (All edges, so I know what the map layout is, and I know where most things are) and decide for a nice base spot before the first winter hits.

Needless to say lantern the earlier the better.

Get ready for deerclobs... what was it, day 30? I think it was.

Summer base in the caves equipped with the essentials before the first summer hits.

Everything else just as I go, or feel like it.

After reading your comment . I think I got more thing for myself to do now lol. Your right, The world really ends when u have nothing you want to do anymore. I think it’s best off for me to discover the things myself and experience it myself. I can never get the feeling of discovery anymore after I experience it. First time is alway speak like I first date xad. After that.  It Won’t be the same. Overall, I think I will have my own list of tasks to do . And overtime I will most likely know what to do. After all. I’m still fairly new and I shouldn’t compare myself with experience players. Your comment help me realize something. Ty mat. Cheer, hope to see u again. If u need anything. Maybe I can help.

In case you need more inspiration on how to decorate and build your base I recommend the two showcase for tidy bases threads (links in my sig). I know the feeling very well not to know what to do, so I started mainly with building projects in my solo world (now I have help from someone). What you build doesn't even need to be useful. We actually have now 3 cave bases and two on the surface. It's nice to have things spread out and come back later.

You're really calling yourself a rookie after living 120 days?

Regardless, if you're bored and looking for something to do, look up "Don't Starve Farm" on youtube, that will give you sume projects to keep yourself busy. I will warn you that fire farms do not work in don't starve together.

Make a zoo. XD that is what I did once I got bored. I have lots of animals and some serve great purpose. I caught 6 Koalefants for a poop resource ( they don’t go into heat) a heard of Volt goats for milk. A heard of no eyed deer, unlimited antlers. A group of Catcoons, enclosed in a pen with trees. They provide helpful and random trinkets. A pig farm and Bunnymen farm.

I dunno...I made up a challenge with multi-page-long rules that takes multiple in-game years to complete...

...despite the fact that I still totally suck at the caves and have yet to solo most bosses.

It's the kind of challenge YOU like that matters, is the thing.  :)

(Have you tried randomising the seasons to spice up your game?  BWAHAHA.)
