Are Starting Biomes Smaller Now?

Again?  They already did that in Outbreak...  Have they said why they keep making the map smaller?

Smaller Starter Biome is annoying, but smaller map in total is kind of infuriating.

Really? I checked the world generation file, the map size is 256*384 in default mode,  the same as before.

If devs shrunk the map again, how did they achieve it without shrunk the map size? Add more neutronium and lava?

Actually, what I've noticed isn't that the starting biome is smaller, it's that the Printing Pod is no longer always at the exact center of the starting biome (or that the starting biome is no longer always at the exact center of the map; Never reached the edges of the map, so I don't know if the Printing Pod is always in the same place each time)

This can lead to the appearance that the biome is smaller, since you are seeing at least one of the edges sooner. Especially if you are near the bottom, since heading down to find Oil is hugely important and the first way pretty much everyone goes unless there they spot a steam geyser close by.

Since oil upgrade - the starting biome is only one biome type away from the oil layer.

This puts the starting biome lower on the map.

The size of the map and the size of the starting biome have not changed - configuration numbers are the same.

You'll get a side for every human hot or hot biome (ie swamp and jungle) - 5 or 6 sided starting biome depending on whether the upper or lower portion was a decent split generation - in which case unions form between marsh and jungle at two or corners of the starting biome.
