If I had to choose, I would choose that one that everybody is afraid of, and tremble when they see him. Also known as WES who is obviously better than all the characters combined, I mean, Edgy-Morty made a video, and he OBVIOUSLY is the best character, I mean, I'm right, right? I would enjoy Maxwell but everyone expects me to chop tree's or mine rocks 24/7 whenever I play him. Dekay Posted January 11, 2018 Share Posted January 11, 2018 The only insight here worth discussing is the background and personality of the characters and why you find some of those stories or traits more compelling than others. There is no new ground to cover debating the merit of each characters mechanics as this has pretty much been objectively settled through raw numbers. Personally I’m a WX fan, I don’t think there is nearly enough back story for it and the very concept of a sentient automaton existing in the time period in which Don’t Starve is set brings up so many questions. Captain_Rage Posted January 12, 2018 Share Posted January 12, 2018 Willow, with her pyromania and teddy bear, has an appeal of sorts to her. In a way it fits that she was dragged into a strange and mysterious world full of nonsense, being an oddball herself. How did she get there? Nobody seems to know. She doesn't seem to be inclined to tell. Probably not in the same manner as Wilson. Was it in a tragic way or did she perhaps leave a tragedy behind her? I'd like to think so. It is true that I am often chopping trees and mining rocks, but every time I go to the ice box there is food. So someone else is out doing the necessities which is nice. I am always there to chop trees as it makes the biggest difference compared to a non Maxwell or Woodie doing it. But sometimes I have other people gather rocks, as no more than 2 miners are needed from my experience. The characters with specialties all have something to offer and in Maxwell's case its being a beast at terraforming the world, which I really enjoy. He's a everyman character who can be selfish, a porker when it comes to sweets, determined, can be clueless at times. He reminds me of myself at best and worst. ShadowDuelist Posted January 16, 2018 Share Posted January 16, 2018 Maxwell, besides the anti-hero aura he has and all the just plain mean comments he makes, he's also a frail mage character that needs to think a bit before jumping into battle or doing things, relying more on the brain rather than muscle.
