In your opinion what is the most valuable gem to get in DST?

depends on how often you use them. Everbody is playing differently.

My opinion is Green gem, because you can convert them to Scale/shroom skin, can get thulecite and beautiful iridescent gem .all these things are pretty rare.

We usally don't need too many orange gems for canes or amulets.

Also you need many yellow gems only if all 6 players using sun stafs every time they can

purple gems? we using them to teleport gekkos, because we don't know what to do with chest of blue/red/purple gems

Green is very useful but personally I never have enough orange gems, but that’s because I like to make lazy deserters because if you build two you can use them to warp people across.

One way is to warp people to just outside the atrium, skipping the whole “get through the sanity gates with a group” nonsense.  Only one person needs to go through, everyone else but one person warps, fuelweaver dies, person left behind warps everyone back.

Orange gems definitely have a good use in together, but ultimately, having green and being able to make infinite scales/shroom skin/thulecite/mandrakes, etc.

Red gems I also use a lot, to have lots of life giving omelettes around the base. But you can get them in such mass and the fact omelettes need gold & nightmare fuel makes crafting them a little more selective.

Blue gems are nice to have as well, seeing as the ice staff is a must for me (Being able to aggro things from a range and take out fires is super helpful for my playstyle)

Purple has like, an incredibly selective use, really only useful for teleporting things into specific locations. But, that's not exactly the most useful and practical use, more of a "My save is super old and what else do I do" thing.

Yellow gem is even more selective in use. Good in winter and summer, farming tons of meat/pigskins, or moonrocks. But even later game they're moreso optional little niceties. The magniluminessence is good too, but I think it drills through durability a little quick.

Well you know what they say: You gotta break a few eggs red gems to make an omelet.
