DST is an amazing game but forcing team play to reach objectives?

Haha, about it being like chess or that it might have keys and doors?

It looks like its turn based. Sure Wigfrid is running/walking but it might be a part of the attack. The enemy doesnt do anything but it might be because

a)It's not its turn.

b)The devs haven't made an attack animation/chose not to show it. They only want to show how one of the enemies looks like and how the characters attack and might want to leave out everything else so that it's a suprise when we can play.

c)Something else/both a and b?

I have a hard time believing that it's the only new enemy that we are going to fight but I think it's not going to be a lot of different enemies. Maybe 5 different types of enemies. I think it's great that they are using events in order to see what we may or may not like.

It might be possible to have a part of it PvP or a new event similar to The Forge but its PvP. We just have to wait and see.

meh. turn-based fights are boring, i wish more to see dynamic hard fights with cool battle mechanics

To tell the truth I'm on the other side of this I would like all parts of the game to require 2+ players in order to survive . At the moment if you don't go to do the OPTIONAL bosses you can survive alone for ages ... and that is not DSTogether if you ask me , it's just DS with new content . But I can see a lot of players (specially those that are not coming from DS) having problems with this so ... I don't mind .
To put it simply I like the new direction Klei is heading with DST but I would prefer for it to be here to stay content and something like =
surface - easy and normal
caves/ruins - normal/hard
sooo next is a palce/world/or even a biome or 2 that needs co-op 2+ players to survive . This is exactly what I want but ... it will be an event (time limited) I hope we can enable it in worldgen like with the other events .

This way there is a palce for everyone at different difficulty .

And for your your concerns about teamplay, we are working to try to make it easy and fun to play with other people. It's not full on ranked matchmaking or anything, but you will be able to click a button and land on a server ready to play. 

More details will come out later, but suffice it to say, we've done a lot of work...

Well I see that someone has never played Darkest Dungeon or Monster Hunter Stories. Turn-based fights can be fun if done right. It's just that a lot of them aren't.

Darkest Dungeon isn't really what i would call "fun", but i must admit that the high randomness isn't my cup of tea. Darkest Dungeon has a lot of great ideas and tactical interesting option anyway so i see what is great in.

i played DD, and final fantasy, and HOMM, and all i can say i dont want to see turn based fights in DST

Any chance this is going to be reasonably beatable with smaller groups of 2-3 players? Not a fan of the newer health-sponge bosses...

i also have only one friend . i hope i will be still able to do the event.
