Perhaps that is the real joke. It is purposely bad, as a semantic play on how little effort jokes usually require in order to make a statement on the frivolous and often destructive nature of comedy in the hands of humans. Which would be what people would say to uphold the image of something they adore, even if it means blatantly lying to themselves and imaging things that are not real, if this was a famous video game or popular singer with a cult fanatic base.
