Get yourself a bit of nightmare fuel and a prestihatitator and you can make a few life giving amulets for when you forget to equip armor around spiders. Just make sure to carry it on your normal inventory. You can't haunt it and revive yourself if it's in a backpack. Indeed, I read dragonfly was a good way to kill deerclops, and he was my main problem, as last times he killed me or made me lose all my sanity and get killed, and that's why I wanted to try the dragonfly thing. Maybe deerclops won because fire lavae were foccusing me? And yes, I saw dragonfly frozen a couple of times (most of the fight happened during the night and I was running for my life so I couldn't see a lot xD). Also, deerclops was veeery low hp after the fight, I only had to hit him like six times. I guess I got really lucky! Gotta love how random this game can be He killed some goats on his way too, I got two fancy horns from them too, but I'm afraid I think all of them are ded. Will they spawn again in case there is no one left? Wow, that's amazing. I once got Deerclops to spawn next to Dragonfly by _accident_...but I was already low health so I just got the heck out of there rather than stick around to see what happened. I assume Dragon-chan smacked down Clopsy but good, but I didn't come back to that desert until spring so I don't know. : P As for the goats...I too have had trouble with them spawning next to the Dragonfly's lair. One time, I went up to one and it ran directly _towards the lavapit_ to get away from me--and caught on fire. But it STILL wouldn't let me come up to it! That's how much these goats distrust you--they'd rather be ON FIRE. Literally. That's weird. Like, it doesn't even lose enough health for Lavae to come out... Maybe it got in a fight with something else first? I had a Treeguard family spawn near it in a recent world and thought about getting them all to fight it later, but...the layout of that world was so bad that I had to reset it. Still might be a good idea if you can spawn a bunch. I played more than 100 hours already just starting again and again, so I think I tried quite a few times xD I also play as Wigfrid because I'm bad and need assist to not die that fast haha! The only Magic tab item I made before was the Ice Staff xD Too bad I do not have caves in my server, so I think I can't go into ruins this time Eyebrella is not needed, you have other options(Rain Coat is pretty dope if you don't mind not having a backpack on you, which you rarely actually need to carry everywhere). I love how the only item you built so far from the Magic tab is the Ice Staff. When you have meat effigies, dark swords, etc. which are some of the most used things, Ice Staff is a priority lol. And I'd say have caves. IMO it's not the full exprience without them. mochilo Posted November 23, 2016 Author Share Posted November 23, 2016 I'm still learning and there are too many things around me to do and craft, so yes I miss a lot of them by now xD I didn't even use the Ice Staff a lot, I just ended up finding I could make one with some blue gems I found from tombs on my first games and crafted it. I really feel I NEED my backpack 24/7, and Eyebrella is making my life quite happier by now. Also, how badass can you feel wearing a super useful item you made out as a reward for killing your first giant ever? That's already pretty cool for me About the caves, I feel a bit of lag when I set caves on, and my laptop takes pretty long to load the game. I'd love to have the full world and items of course. But as you can see, I still have A LOT to do on the surface, so I told myself I could enjoy and learn a lot on my no-lag world by now. I have to say I'm loving feeling like a noob all around and making efforts to stay alive hahaha. CaptainChaotica Posted November 23, 2016 Share Posted November 23, 2016 Heh.The reason I take way longer than 35 days to kill the Deerclops is...my usual method involves tooth traps. Lots and lotsa them. By the time of only the first winter, I don't have anywhere NEAR enough teeth from hounds yet. : P (Or, ya know, team up with other players. But quite often I end up playing alone by accident, and I don't yet trust my combat skills enough to not die by giant, and bang! there goes that whole world.)
