Question about Domesticated Beefalo

Just wondering if we are or will be able to milk domesticated beefalo? If milk is a little easier to come by, it would could add to the recipes. Like cheese plates or chowders.

We already have milk, but I guess it is goat milk and not "cow" milk but I don't really care for milking beefalo, like why would wanna touch a big dumb hairy beast just to get milk!...Do beefalo even have utters?

Anyway if you wanna get some milk in game just make a scarecrow to spawn canaries, craft bird cages or make boomerangs and kill some canaries until you get a ton of canary feathers to make tons of electric darts to charge voltgoats.(I hate how these can't be use to make Wx-78 overcharge)

why go with the canary method i for one perfer using the morning star since you get the items you need to make it from the animal you are killing

That was just an example since you could also charge them with end is nigh but I just suggested a more ranged approach, and I wasn't 100% sure you could do that with morning stars but I did hear of it one time or another but didn't know if someone was just joshing me.

If u want easy milk, use this method:

 

We all know that it's a pain in the ass to fight Volt goats when they are charged (Unless you have an Eyebrella)

 

Aggro one of them with a ranged weaponn, Do not use Electric Darts (In RoG only the aggro'd goat will fight u, I can't remember it's the same in DST or not) and make him fight you. Go and read about Volt goats and the ammount of hits you need to kill em. Count your hits, then, do the killing blow (the last hit that kills the goat) with either an electric dart or Morning star. There, You get urself an electric milk, Quite healthy and a dairy product

(I don't know that it's a very common knowledge or not, It was very interesting for me when it happened for me and i thought it would be good to share it here)

I just wanted an easier way to get milk without killing a bunch of volt goats.... also in most of my worlds, volt goats are a lot farther away then beefalo... also have a basecamp near beefalo.

what about domesticating Koelephants for milk and stuff... I always keep a few around basecamp for easy manure (I like agriculture in my worlds :))

yeah i was kinda thinking of this  aswell in the domestication standards  if koaliphants and goats were to be domesticatable koalifants could be a utility worker tree cutter and also a pack mule  since thats what elephants do irl while goats would just be for milk and maybe  small utility picking like while riding a goat harvest time would be half. on harvestables

Fairly sure the volt goat will be aggressive when charged even in DST. Also, I'm pretty sure the Rain Hat stops lightning damage(Hence why it exists when the Rain Coat is full wetness resistance but not lightning).

I think it's a bug that the killing blow can still charge the goat, but to each their own.

The charged goat will attack you even if u get close to it (Both DST and RoG) I meant that I'm not sure The other goats will attack u too if you attack one of them (Like Beefalos)

 

In RoG you'll still take damage if you hit the goat, regardless you're wearing Dumbrella/Eyebrella/Rainhat, Probably a bug. But in DST if u wear eyebrella u wont take damage, I don't know about Rain hat tho, havent tested it yet.

If Eyebrella works, Rainhat should too.

I thought the rain coat gives lightning protection as well and the rain hat exists because without an eyebrella it's the only way to get lightning protection while using the body slot for something else?

I've never been struck by lightning while wearing the raincoat.

Why go through all that trouble? Just get a Morning star and you can charge all the goats you want! Like, I was JUST using this strat whilst playing the game.
