LadyAzure
I am starting this topic because the other day I found out on accident something new in DST. I've been playing for 2 years and never knew this. I had a bunch of carrots that were going to spoil, which I had for my bunnymen. So I fed them to my bird hoping to get an egg. Instead I got carrot seeds! Mind blown...all this time I've been foraging the hard way for carrots to give to my bunnymen when all I had to do was make a carrot garden? Well that surprised me lol. As a vet player, does anyone still come across new things? Nah mostly just new quotes really, but I do have way more vet players tell me what's the best thing to do which is one of the reasons I like playing with competent newbies. however if we take the phrase "surprise" literally, I do sometimes yell whenever I'm in a tough situation I always never prepare for but always triumph in the end...well...most times. ;~; Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/71171-anything-still-surprise-you/#findComment-829725 Share on other sites

GentlemanFridge
The last thing in DST that surprised me, was when the Dragonfly suddenly rushed towards me when I was far away from her arena. She got me, allright. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/71171-anything-still-surprise-you/#findComment-829921 Share on other sites

Did you know that feeding your bird any form of crop (corn/pumpkin/dragonpie/etc.) that you grew in a farm from regular seeds will yield seeds of said crop? I was pleasantly surprised a few months ago on the easy Gobbler kill method, after spending how long chasing them to the map edge for a kill & most of the time losing 1 or both the drumstick drops O.o Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/71171-anything-still-surprise-you/#findComment-829943 Share on other sites
LadyAzure
No not until the carrot, but I really only have a need for dragon fruits. Now I can feed all my bunnies. Also the turkey catching I figured early on. DVS_Zev
I never understood why people would dry monster meat into jerky.i usually play Wolfgang and i opt to turn my MM into eggs for E&B. After years of playing i just recently learned you can make meatballs from monster jerky and filler.totally blew my mind lol this game never stops giving Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/71171-anything-still-surprise-you/#findComment-834319 Share on other sites

Otherwise it's a waste of valuable drying rack space. Also the idea of M-Jerky to give to Pig King for gold is a long process when eggs will do same thing instantly. Raw/Cooked MM with filler also makes meatballs. LadyAzure
I always dry the monster meat. I use it for eggs and have tons of drying rags. Also good for making monster lasagna for your guests hehe. If the jerky form gave 2 eggs, maybe that'd be worth it. If the stored eggs start to go off, recycle by cooking them up & feed to bird for fresh eggs. Tree45
I also never dry MM and I usually have quite a few drying racks. Did I read right that you can make meatballs with just monster jerky and 3 fillers? No morsel or meat required? Pyr0mrcow
Any monster meat/other meat works, as long as there's just one and no Durians. Jerkifying it is actually pretty useful. Get a bunch, refrigerate it, don't have to bother with meat farming for a good while unless you want something special. Easy to keep up a supply with some spider nests and grass traps. LadyAzure
Personally I have so many racks that I would be wasting them, not to put monster meat on them. I have 4 bases, one above ground, one next to ruins and two others underground.
