FreyaMaluk
This is the most annoying thing about DST.... Movement and speed are sooooo much different from DS. I don't know what the problem is, but sometimes, and specially against Deerclops, i'm just right next to it, I hit F and nothing happens, even if I'm right next to the thing (have damage indicators, so I can see when the hit connects)... why is this?? This is just driving me crazy Is there a way to change this is the settings? Something is cancelling my attacks... Mobbstar
If the connection is bad, it takes a while until the "F" pressing gets sent to the server. That's why people might have a hard time hunting small prey such as butterflies. SniderThanYou
I also notice this when fighting Deerclops, even when I'm hosting the server myself, and lag should be minimal. My character swings twice, but I don't hear the sound effect of Deerclops being hit, he doesn't flinch, and my weapon does not lose durability. I haven't noticed this delay when fighting the other giants. Against Deerclops specifically, I turn off movement prediction, and turn it back on when he's dead. Any idea why Deerclops would cause more lag than the other giants? voyager156
I had similar problems, but with Bearger. I discovered that it was caused by a mod "Health Info" that I was using. After disabling it and making a new world - this bug disappeared. Faintly Macabre
Playing on a controller, this happens to me when I move all the way into range with my control stick and then attack, instead of moving into range far enough for the "Fight" prompt to pop up and hitting the button and letting the automatic tracking take over for movement. I assume this has something to do with movement prediction. EuedeAdodooedoe
Two words: Disable prediction. But if you already have... how's that even possible? With it disabled shouldn't what happens on-screen overall with your character be delayed instead of your actions happening as you move but what you do to the world being delayed? Arlesienne
I use force-attack, but if it just just lag... Then you need to fight lag before it changes. Sheauwn
Sounds to me like a class seven lag-omorph. Try using treeguards to kill the deerclops for you.
