GiddyGuy Posted June 18, 2016 Share Posted June 18, 2016 So I was browsing the character strings to see what the other characters said about Wickerbottom's books and lo and behold I found these --BOOK_METEOR = "Read a passage and call forth Ragnarok!", --BOOK_METEOR = "I'm not a good reader, but he is!", I do believe "BOOK_METEOR" refers to Wickerbottom's book from Shipwrecked called "the joy of volcanology" but why would Wigfrid and Webber need strings for said book if they'll never come in contact with it? And Shipwrecked isn't in Don't starve together...yet...or maybe never will be. @KrisRF And yes I know you once said that you make mistakes by putting Shipwrecked strings into DST, but those you can't even see in Don't starve Shipwrecked I'm quite sure. Edit: I recently found out there's more quotes for the meteor books if anyone is interested. Spoiler Wilson --BOOK_METEOR = "The foreword just says \"Hope you like dragoons.\"", Willow --BOOK_METEOR = "I'll burn through this book!", Wolfgang I couldn't find one for Wolfgang sadly. Wendy --BOOK_METEOR = "Reading is a dangerous thing.", Wx-78 Couldn't find any for Wx-78 Woodie None for Woodie. Wes ... Because Klei also the appreciates the joy of having a PVP battle with Boat Canons and traversing the oceans and getting lost... oCrapaCreeper Posted June 19, 2016 Share Posted June 19, 2016 Some strings got switched up when moving stuff over and Kris probably just wrote something there anyway since her job is to write awesome stuff. They still write/update strings relating to stuff that was unused or impossible to examine in-game, for the sake of completetion. The Swimming Horror and Skittish from Shipwrecked for example have strings despite the fact they can't be examined, and Maxwell has a line for examining his NPC entity and that giant head. It's all just for completion sake. They boy has taken onto properties of the spider (e.g. strong stomach), just like the spider has taken onto properties of the boy (e.g. physique), so it is save to assume that they "merged" at least partially. Whilst they may not be able to communicate, it is entirely possible that the spider is still alive independently and capable of thinking.
