The new cinematic does a great job of showing that, however much They have taken her over, the part of her that's her is strong enough to have likes/dislikes. So I kind of love the thought that the presents are really just the part of her that loves to be showy going, "You know what this harsh and punishing wilderness needs? A DRESS UP option." And: "Who needs a tent? What they'll really want is a WARDROBE." And I have the most amazing mental image of her sitting on the throne, scoping out new outfits with either approval or disapproval, as the case may warrant. Apart from Tattered Rags, Mess Dress, Rump Red Silky Robe, Canadian Boots, Tuxedo Gloves and Red Sneakers, I only get stuff I don't need. Charlie is more efficient in lowering sanity than Maxwell. I need another puzzle to learn how she does it. When everyone finished the puzzle, Maxwell and Wilson finished the portal, the other survivors came out and had different clothes on except for Wes, unless they came from another time, or Charlie gave them clothes already. True, there is that. Timeline-wise that's a bit wonky anyway, though, because the comic shows the creation of the portal that starts DST, mirroring the old Wilson-creating-the-gate comic. Wendy, Wolfgang, and Wes come through it (presumably) at the start of DST, two with skins already, when they're coming from DS, in which skins don't exist. Ah, well.
