Or it could just be the sun...?

True, but wasn't the portal also the moon? Since it was in the sky in the first few panels. Or did the multitudes of opinions about time in the comic deceive me.

If the orb is the sun, then I retract my whole post. And the smokestack coming from a firepit/campfire really makes sense.

yeah I thought it was the sun as well... setting.

Yeah exactly, we can see darkness on the 11th panel and then Maxwell going towards the campfire in the distance in hopes of surviving the night.

I think that the portal just appeared to drop him off and disappeared (thou it makes more sense the moon to be a portal - meteors are falling from there with moon rocks .)

I think the portal just appeared in the air, also I don't think the moon is that close to the earth... As for the time in the comic people keep posting about I think it's just how the comic was posted in IRL days. day1 was the day I originally discovered the puzzle, day2 was when it updated and so on, as for day4_2 and day4_3 those were steps in the puzzle. So when we typed in Infirmus we get day4_2 and when we clicked the flowers we got day 4_3.

This all sounds crazy, but what is crazy anymore in don't starve? we got koalas merged with an elephant, a frikin bird with an eye for most of its body and giant trees that swipe you in the face.

True. But still we gotta look into this section of crazy ;)

Ugh well I guess I can take a bit more of crazy xD But don't expect me to act the same way at the end of this puzzle.

Well have you noticed that every character in DS is kinda crazy / obsessed with something . We are walking the road to them and in time will join the cast .

Alright. Trust me the good stuff hasn't even STARTED yet. (presuming since Klei is quite good with puzzles)

Yeah, I get the part about the day#_# relating to the real time (our world's days) and the second # relating to the steps in the puzzle. What I was wondering about was if it's actually day or night in the comic itself.

Although based on what's been said after I made that long post, I'd have to agree that it's dusk and the sun is setting in Maxwell's world.

The moon/portal line of thinking is clearly wrong and I retract my statement. Thanks for clearing that up.

Now I really should take a break... cheers.

I don't even remember where we found this gif

I think it was apart of a puzzle, but I've only been with DS for a little while, so I'm not exactly a chronicler who can cross-reference this at a moment's notice.

not really important, but i think, it is already night at the beginning of the comic. because spiders hunt maxwell and there is no spiderdent anywhere. therfore it has to be fullmoon, course he can see everything. maybe the new darkness shows, that he goes insain again?

Edit: wait,  why are there spiderwarrors? a setpiece or was he really so stupit to attack a spider without a weapon?
