jpmrocks
So I was messing around in SW with Warly, and my second island, found a ton of Prime Ape Huts. I'd never really messed around with Prime Apes too much, and I smashed a house. Three Prime Apes ran out, didnt bother me until the loot dropped, and I'd pick up the bananas and other loot, and move to the next hut. I did this with about 8 houses, until I miss clocked and hit a Prime Ape. Suddenly, the whole horde of I'd say about fifty apes goes crazy and starts flinging manure. My sanity dropped from 200 to 0 in a flash. So I ran, across this island, a fairly large one, and the horde did not stop. I reached my initial landing base where I quickly died due to Charlie. I feel like there's too many Prime Apes that have the potential per spawning per island. Now, I have no idea if thats something that can really be changed, and it may be that I'm just a scrub at DS, but that was a lot of Prime Apes. Maslak
To it would be different. Not sanity goes from 200 to 0 in a flash, but fps from 20 to 0 in a flash xD Well, that's sad. There are jungle islands with 20 or more ape huts, I know your pain.
Developer ImDaMisterL Posted March 14, 2016 Developer Share Posted March 14, 2016 Well, you can always change the Prime apes to less in the world gen settings. There's also a set piece in SW that spawns an island almost completely overrun with Prime Apes. Could've been this one you're talking about

Set prime apes on less in world gen, you will still find enough of them.

In my opinion, this game is about trail and error - making mistakes and learn not to make them again. Don't take this as attack etc. I just see this game this way... 1 hour ago, jpmrocks said: I feel like there's too many Prime Apes that have the potential per spawning per island. I also think this is a mistake. But from different reason. When I enter such island (with many, many monkeys) the game suddenly runs slower (lag). And I don't think I'm the only one - right? So this should be fixed.

Because if you're just clicking, you'll end up attacking something. Reminds me of that one time I tried to get spider buddies as webber, misclicked, and had an entire horde of spider warriors gangbang me to death. 12 hours ago, ImDaMisterL said: Well, you can always change the Prime apes to less in the world gen settings. SW world generation has islands (or parts of islands) generated with high variations on what they contain, much more so than RoG or Vanilla. These variations cause "themed islands" to be generated. I'm sure you have noticed that some islands have a lot of one or two particular things, while lacking in other items, while another island can be the opposite. Jungle biome variations include one with a high chance for prime ape huts, another that is fairly sparse, another which has a lot of bamboo etc. I think this particular one is the one named "JungleMonkeyHell" in the game files. Ah, I was confused after seeing it called a setpiece. This makes more sense.

Speacily in the Dense Jungles using Space and the F key is much more relyable then using the mouse because you don't need direct sight to hit an enemy with F and the same can be said about chooping stuff or smashing stuff with the Spacebar. Also even if Apes are plentyfull just give 1 a Banana and suddenly you'r swimming in loot and i think you can't miss click as easily because they all back off when you have an allied ape. queenb33
There can be a whole hell of a lot of PA's out there, I would take a tactical approach, take out a few PA huts, or take out some and feed bananas, get those to attack the others and crack on and destroy the rest... what is it they say...? Slowly, slowly catchy monkey (sorry, I just could not resist the pun!)
Hugeisno1
I feel your pain, a misclick of my own sent me through the same situation. Fleeing into the dark with no sanity to speak of. It happens though, One learns from it and one moves on to the next life.
