StartDSTServers.bat should show FileType as "Windows Batch File". Let StartDSTServers.bat file run, should now properly start your dedicated server. @Corduroy. welcome to the forums. Your server_log.txt files under both Master and Caves folder of your dedicated server should show more info on the cause of it getting stuck. Attach them to your next reply by drag dropping the files themselves directly into the reply box edit window when you make a new reply. Hopefully it'll be an easy issue to fix. Zillvr Posted July 31, 2020 Share Posted July 31, 2020 Hello @poppiish, welcome to the forums. Are you unable to access the server though in-game Browse Games screen? Filter for the name you input in Cluster Name for Step 6. If you are starting your server from the same machine you are playing on, it should appear if you Filter Connection to LAN. However, if you are using a hosting service, server should appear in Online. If you still aren't able to access your dedicated server, can you confirm that you are not opted-in to any betabranches? From what I can tell (on my end, when I run dedicated servers), "Registering master server in US lobby" is normal. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

However, I want to ask if it's possible to create two or more dedicated servers. Not running at the same time of course. If yes, how? I've been trying to troubleshoot issues with getting my mods to auto-update and one that would freak out when I manually updated (thread here) but things went south quickly into a bigger problem. My server no-longer recognizes any of my mods, and despite using backup copies and refreshing things entirely with new downloads, the problem remains. The main root of the problem seems to be the server load unable to locate the modmain.lua in each of the mod folderes, even though they remain in the same place. The trouble started after the other person attempting to help me told me to delete the mods folder and run a command prompt instead of my batch file in order to generate a log for him to look at. Since then, nothing has worked to repair the server's relationship with the mods. I suspect a piece of code got fragged somewhere but I don't know where to go or what to look for, and with the way things have gone I worry that even starting back from scratch things might still be botched. Any kind of help will be greatly appreciated. Sometimes it will allow me to see the server before registering it, but it continues to not register as I play, and eventually I disconnect and am unable to return. Ive attached the server logs. Whenever i run startDSTServer.bat, two consoles pop-up and start doing their own thing, i'm guessing that's fine. The problem is, how do I actually start the game, as in go into the Constant and start playing from there? I tried hosting a game normally, through the game client but if I leave the game and my friend is still on, it kicks him out. Isn't the server supposed to keep going as long as someone is connected? Jaded1 Posted November 26, 2020 Share Posted November 26, 2020 I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but at step 6 I get the following(see picture) steam interface. To clarify: It doesn't matter whether I change any or none of the parameters, when I choose download settings, nothing downloads. Instead I get directed to steam files on my PC. Instead I get directed to steam files on my PC. To do that step just go back to the account info part and copy and paste the url to do on the browser, otherwise you can't save as a zip. JazzyGames Posted January 4, 2021 Share Posted January 4, 2021 This guide is great but definitely needs to be updated. One thing I'd add as a recommendation to anyone updating via a .bat file is too remove the "validate" line. Otherwise Steam will always replace your dedicated_server_mods_setup.lua with the default blank file and you'll be unable to install mods. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
