(Alright, let's slow down for a bit. One: I have to go to bed, Two: we need to give everyone else a chance to catch up. A lot just happened.

Also, please don't do anything to dragon until I get back. I have a plan for how she'll react when people approach her now that she's injured.)

Meritursas smiles in sick pleasure.  He hadn't had so much fun in a while.  The smoke-people weren't very filling, but they were enjoyable to hunt.  However, still feeling peckish, he crawls back towards the ruined corpse of the crazy cat female.  But upon reaching it, he found the cowardly human had already buried it.  What a waste!  Meritursas reaches out a claw to dig it out of the ground.

He pauses.

The other humans had cared for this troublesome creature, had they not?  Even if it had been misplaced, that had to be worth something.

Meritursas slithers back into the ocean.  He could find food elsewhere.

Gilda headed over to the fight. How exciting this was! It seems action had been taken towards the new comer, although she didn't remember why because she was stuck in time perhaps she'd be allowed some of the flesh.

For some reason one of the humans had buried the meat, a custom?

--------

wheke scrambled away from the scene. S/he wasn't going to be a part of this! They took up somewhere far enough to be safe but close enough to see well.

(Oh, I can't use the "frozen in time" excuse here. Dangit.)

Mark watched the whole scene. And he felt useless. Powerless. He wanted to do... something about the scene that was unfolding in front of his eyes... but he couldn't do anything.

Were these tears falling down his eyes? Probably... but he couldn't get himself to wipe them off.

Heck, he couldn't even get himself to walk towards Julia's corpse. Trevor and that weird aquatic thing were there, but... he just couldn't walk. Or do anything, really.

He was frozen in shock. Crying, and not being able to do anything. He was imprisoned inside his own body.

And he felt completely horrible.

Now that the fight was over, adrenaline had fulfilled it's purpose and was starting to wear off, and with it's absence came pain. Agonizing pain. The dragon pulled herself up and tried to fly again, but didn't get very far before crashing down. She tried again and again, screeching and flailing and kicking. It was no use. Eventually she let herself collapse in the sand, breathing heavily through her nostrils as dark, oily blood trickled out of her leg and on to the sand.

Kate sat herself down between Wiffleball and Kade in the cargo hold. Eventually, as the sounds of the combat outside echoed through the space, she became pale, curled up, and started sobbing. It was too familiar; hiding in a dark place with the sounds of fighting outside, but she couldn't remember. Kade couldn't calm her down.

In shock, Viridis turns around because of the noise only to see a dragon struggling around on the sand, and the black beast slithering away into the sea. "What... have you... done..?" She slowly approaches the grave Trevor put together, which was opened up since Meritursas dug in it a bit, revealing a bit of the blood and guts inside. Viridis gave a disgusted look at the grave, turning to the spot where Meritursas went back into the sea. "What did you... achieve with this?!" she slowly started yelling. "What a... digusting waste... of talent...!" Now looking at the dragon, she pointed her claws at it and said "This creature is now... in pain!! How can you... live with this?!"

"I stopped hunting... conscious creatures... since I discovered they were. I felt horrible for... months after that." she said.

Viridis turned her back to the ocean.
"Dark creature of the sea... are you... happy?" she quietly asked, as a genuine question.

She was dead. Her body was crushed. And she wasn't coming back.

he... he had suspected she wasn't who she said she was. Turns out he was unfortunately right. She had hurt them so much, and she still... she kissed him, and...

He couldn't believe he actually felt something for her.

Finally able to move, he cleaned the tears from his eyes, and ran towards the dragon. Not even stopping to look back towards the grave. Julia had hurt the dragon, and she needed help fast.

"... A... Are you... okay? Ugh, of course not. But can... can you hear me? Do you think I can help you?" Mark was finally able to talk again. The dragon was laying there, and there was a worryingly-big ammount of blood escaping from her body.
