Com-what? Ohh you mean that useless item that needs 1 gold and 1 Papyrus?

Yeah i never use it i mean why should I? It's not like i got a big map that easily shows me every location i already visited and possible places i could go later.

Nope, I rarely if ever use it.

It only has more and better uses in Don't Starve Together, abd even then I also rarely use it :/

Pretty much this. In DST people use cardinal directions, but for people who rotate their camera a lot something like "go east for camp" is meaningless unless they reorient themselves. In single player the compass is utterly useless.

i agree , but here its shipwrecked forum , so , in shipwrecked , i think this item is realy realy realy useless ... you are alone , and you just need to open the map to know where you want to go XD. So , like you , i rarely use it in this DLC

If I recall the Compass was specifically added for the people who are strict about keeping the same camera angle. It wasn't meant to have a use beyond that.

I think it had more use in Adventure mode rather then anything else cause well if there is something in the World that ALWAYS generates in one place such as north or south etc, it could be useful then otherwise its completely and utterly useless...

I always felt that having a compass should show allow the map to show more. Such as without the compass you only get terrain/biome features and signs, but with a compass in your inventory things like your camp, wormholes, etc. would show up on the map.
The spirit of this would be that the compass let you navigate better, and it would also mean you might use signs early on to mark key locations until you get a compass built.
However,
A> That isn't how the game works and
B> Even if it did someone would just make a mod to bypass that function anyway.

Still I think it would be nice to have an option to "Require Compass for Wayfinding"

I also think there should be a chance that the map rotates to a random orientation when waking, when recovering from death at a touchstone, and when entering or exiting caves. this would make getting lost a possibility. Although not a big one if the player really pays attention.
