Sir-Jude
I am not sure if it's just the games that I'm used to, but this game does feel like it runs just a little too fast. The day and night cycles just seem like they go too quickly. As well as how quickly the food seems to go down. Again this might just be me, but i just feel that the game cycles through things too quickly and would like to see if the game could run just a little slower due to the fact that day lasts around three or four minutes IRL time. Post your comments and tell me if you see it differently, I'm more or less curious if time is just passing by too quickly with this game or not. Ran
As much as I'm sure many would be completely against this, I have to agree. I mean, doesn't it seem a bit contradictory? I keep reading about how they don't like players having everything in their base and want them to go explore, but at the same time they give us really little time to safely explore, having to constantly be making campfires to keep going. It kinda makes one more likely to want to go back to the main base rather than setting a temporary and probably unsafe one each night. Although admittedly, big part of this is also inventory space. There's no point in exploring further if you can't get anything you find, right? But well, that's another topic. Mojito
At first few attempts i was thinking like you, Sir-Jude. Day was too short for me. I couldn't do as many actions as i do right now. You would get used to it with some time spend on the game, trust me You would make your own tacticks, or learn some from the forum or wiki and everything would be fine. At first i couldn't imagine to get food, harvest berries and wood, make my own berry farm, farm silk, defend from hound attacks and get time for explore the land. Just be patient, spend some time with the game, get used to it Daytime and night time are balanced enough. Just more practice Every attempt with the game you will learn more about mechanics and your own behaviour within the game
mobius187
Well one key factor to remember is, when you extend the duration of daylight you'll then need to reciprocate by also extending the duration of sunset and nightfall. I don't know about you, but I don't want longer nights. I mean, we've already been told that the Devs plan to extend the duration of night (i.e. shorter days) during Winter... so it will already get worse. As the other players have suggested you simply need to manage your time better and plan ahead. I use the night to plan my project for the next day, whether it's harvesting berries/crops or heading off to mine more stone or collecting reeds from the swamp. You just need to set a goal, focus on it, and then choose another the next day. If food is an issue, then definitely, focus on it first until it's no longer a concern. The hounds exist to "spice up" you daily routines.

Bogpad
I voted just fine, because I generally do not have a problem with the day/night lengh. However, if the devs would evver think about making changes to this cycle, my suggestion would be to add 2 or 3 more segments and make them as dawn, from a game mechanic pov let it work just as the dusk period. I always feel it is a bit weird that we have a dusk part of the day, but the change from night to day is so very abrubt

BarovSoap
You're supposed to learn to love the mods in an extremely creepy way that makes them avoid you by taking pictures of them and posting it with hearts and such around them. So far I seem to be doing that all wrong. I like the current cycle speeds
501105
To be a bit offtopic (my apologies for that). Tumtumtum, everybody has the right to post on this forum, wether that may be often or only at very rare moments, it is their own choice. If you take offense at the frequency of Mobius his postings, then I would suggest to simply ignore his posts, but you cant tell somebody to sock their opinion. I mean, we've already been told that the Devs plan to extend the duration of night (i.e. shorter days) during Winter... so it will already get worse.Oh but I do want longer nights Right now it's almost a blink, and even if it transitions to night time while you're being chased by five spiders, two hounds and one tallbird, you just need to have a big enough fire and run around it for two minutes. I've done it, lol. Then again, we'd also need some better way of avoiding enemies during the night, cause I don't wanna be running around in circles for ten minutes either xDAs the other players have suggested you simply need to manage your time better and plan ahead. I use the night to plan my project for the next day, whether it's harvesting berries/crops or heading off to mine more stone or collecting reeds from the swamp. You just need to set a goal, focus on it, and then choose another the next day.Or you can just, you know, plan while paused, lol. But really, the thing is not planing what to do, it's not being able to do much even using every single second of the day in something productive. I mean, I dunno, it's fine now I guess, but it just seems a few things like traveling long distances and exploring the map take up a whole lot of days. 9600bauds
I often feel like I can barely get anything done during the day, and I don't get to explore as much as I would like before I have to either set up a fire or run back to my base, even if I set off in the morning. I would love longer days, and also longer, but more eventual nights to match. Right now I feel like nighttime is less like something to be afraid of and more like a boring sort of curfew.
