Please pass something to singeplayer...

Recommended Posts

There are some things that I don´t understand why Klei refuses to pass to Singleplayer...

Things like:

- Clothes

- Emotes

- Lavae Eggs

- Bernie

These are such great items and things that make the game so much fuller, and it would be so easy to pass to singleplayer! Why don´t they do it!

When Mulitplayer was announced I was excited, but I wasn´t aware that it meant that singleplayer would be abandoned!

Please Klei, pass these things to SP!

pls let us do actions in SW while holding items in hand like in DST, PLS PLS PLS :D

P.S. Emotes make no sense in single player logically, since, unless you are streamer, there is nobody to "emote" to. Clothes drops while nice, I think, present a reasonable technical challenge to port, since they are not even fully implemented in DST.

But yeah SW can use some of DST mechanics, *cough* *cough* smoldering *cough* *cough*

I don't feel like any of those really make much sense to port to singleplayer. There are some things that would be great, mostly quality of life stuff like the crafting scroll, not fluff or things that mostly only make sense in a multiplayer game(or in the giant setup in DST)

Maybe not emotes, but the others surely do. Ok, also maybe Bernie doesn´t, considering Willow isn´t nerfed in SP. I´ll give you that one, but clothes! I want clothes! I was so disappointed when I started playing SW, when I realized that clothes was only in Mulitplayer...GRRRRR

Clothes? Seriously? In normal DS, you wouldn't get to see them a lot anyways, unlike in DST, where you spend more time naked on a new server. Besides, that vanity system would make things more confusing than they need to be. Not to mention: how would you obtain clothes in DS? It would ruin the very point of them being in DST!

What are you on about? Being able to customize your character isn´t something exclusive for Multiplayer games. You obtain them the same way you obtain clothes DST...

Can we just talk about how much having the full hand and still being able to do things would be wonderful to have moved over to Don't Starve. Also DX is true too.

Xavven and TheKingofSquirrels Pig King was replaced with an Octopus King in Ship Wrecked. You trade things to him and he'll spawn a chest depending on the trade but only so many trades per day.

The point of clothing is to brighten the idea of repeatedly joining a server and dying to something which is not possible to avoid to you (start in summer, trolls, bad connection, etc.), as well as to better distinguish between players with the same character (hovering over a moving player is difficult, and names may be very similiar).

In DS, there are neither of said problems. Furthermore, I assume being able to get periodic presents in singleplayer would make getting them in multiplayer seem unnecessarily complicated. The "encouragement" effect wouldn't just not apply to singleplayer, it would be destroyed entirely (i.e., for single- and multiplayer).

From what I can tell, the only reason for bringing the clothing system to DS is that you think Wilson or his friends were hideous. (aka custom appearance) See my previous post for why I think vanity doesn't really work in DS. (other games have a special vanity slot or dyeable equippment of sorts for this very purpose)
