We were doing just fine with loads of drying racks and farms and winter gear. So we're organizing things. Minding our own business and having fun. Suddenly, "Is that the Deerclops?" Waiting and listening to sounds, I am puzzled and cannot hear it for a good few seconds. "OH CRAP IT'S THE DEERCLOPS!" So while I'm ushering her to get out of base and get to the swamp, she's running around in a frenzy and runs back to base, while i'm already leaving to the swamp, hoping to god it spawns by me.Sadly, it does not. It spawns by W and proceeds to destroy only 2 chests while she charges and grabs it's attention, leading it away from camp, but not towards the swamp.In panic she had led him to a clearing and I charge my way over to assist in the fight.Due to lag though I am no more use than a training dummy while fighting the beast. So I am easily slaughtered since I cannot kite effectively and worry as W is low on health.I haunt a tree.It becomes a treeguard. We successfully get them to ensue in battle. W flees back to camp for a moment and I watch a little before following since night is approaching. I travel back. The treeguard has won.We have labeled him an honourable title and he has earned our friendship. Well we were beating on the Deerclops prior with tentacle spikesKiting the giant jerk was just turning into trouble with lag. Timothy saved our lives and our base. Edit: Well W's life anyways. We're pretty well restocked and fixed and soon I'll be making a tentacle trap area if allowed. That's the second bloody time she destroys her own base (indirectly)! excuse u, it was only some berry bushes with the butterfly incident Actually the weird thing was I had cleared the base when he spawned, and I had to go back a couple screens just to find him in there anyway... the butterfly did more damage than the Deerclops, oddly enough. Unless you count the death. Minus the dying of course. The haunting was a last ditch effort and I was just lucky to get a Treeguard on first roll. It was a saving grace. I still don't understand the butterflies though. Did they become neutral animals with twenty million attack? No, no. It's just setting butterflies on fire is a terrible idea because they can fly and die anywhere and cause fire to everything. It's no fun for anyone.One burning butterfly can cause you, your base. BTW I can edit out this footage as well, as this was also recorded. There was a lot more "god f***ing damnit" in this one, IIRC. Please do! We need all of the amazing footage! I need to start recording my own things too!
