suggestion beaches,sailing,crabs,sharks and krakens

we can go underground to the caves but what about some adventure on the surface?

what would it be like if instead of cliffs next to the sea you could have a beach with crabs in it and turtles that come out to lay there eggs. and a boat that you can sail to a ocean world with a dock?

in the sea world you could find island with pirate treasure and sharks that will want too kill you on your boat and near the shore jelly fish will sting you!

and a boss will be in the deep ocean, the kraken

tell me what do you think in the comments!

Maybe you could find an old broken raft on the shore and have to repair it to take you to an island with a jungle biome and it would be similar to the way caves are instanced

I don't much care for the idea of sailing, but a jungle biome sounds awesome!!!!

Perhaps the raft could just fast forward you to a jungle themed island similar to the kind seen in the Don't Starve Concept art

The ocean work as a natural barrier! You are trapped on this island! Nowhere else to go. That's the feeling of Don't Stave, YOU CANNOT ESCAPE!

Making boats would just ruin this whole concept, the island itself wouldn't be seen as place where you HAVE to life in. You could simply escape from every danger that hits you

So thumbs down from me.

I am in favorer of having a whole new part added to ocean adventures. And the ocean can end whenever the devs feels like it to end. This is Don't Starve, so sudden waterfalls off to the edge of oblivion would fit in just nicely.

Now, this would take up an entire new DLC to add in though (and I already want the next DLC to be cave focused,) so maybe later.

I'd much rather see this as a mod or as a way to move to the next world. you need a certain amount of resources to build a boat/raft/ect.

I'd much rather see rivers, water falls, hills and a few ruins on the surface. But those are just basic aesthetic changes

I wouldn't mind a shallow sea biome, you can go fishing for bigger fish than you get in ponds, bigger meat drops, however you put yourself at risk for piranha attacks, they hide under the water until they are ready to attack. Kind of like ten cuticles, but less damage and dp and they move around.

the sea itself will have like a big waterfall in the end to prevent you from escaping there are allot of ways to prevent you from escaping

Maybe you can repair an old boat (like what the people above me said) and take it to sea, and as you are going you see whatever character you are using in the boat sailing, you can move around a bit too, but after like a minute everything begins to shake, and you see the character say "What is that?" and a giant Kraken tentacle comes out and pulls the boat down, then the screen goes black and you are on a jungle biome with native tribal people/creatures that throw spears at you if they are attacked, and warriors that attack on sight. When you come on the island you have low health, hunger, and sanity. This would be better off as a mod though. I don't feel like it fits with Don't Starve :|

thats really good but i thought of the water like a cave witch is like another world of its own but great idea!

I've said it before and I'll say it again: ocean travel just does not conform to Don't Starve's gameplay style.

The only form of travel I could see in this context would be using a raft to cross a loch to lessen journey time, and even then that'd involve coding a mechanic for a lake to be created in the map in the first place.

I don't like it. :/

I don't either. Like I said. I'd rather have it as a mod not a real thing. Well, it's cool but doesn't fit with DS
