Hopes for Don't Starve DLC

Recommended Posts

I know there's one more patch for Don't Starve but what do you guys hope will be in the DLC, I really hope there will be more layers for caves like Kevin said back when caves where first added. Like a lava level or a layer with the heart of the Bunnyman kingdom with their own King/Queen/Other leader or a layer which has the monster where all the tentacles connect to.(although it's probably a good thing we don't see what the tentacles connect to because it would probably be an ugly blob with tentacles coming out of it). But what do you guys think will be in the Don't Starve DLC?

One can dream of a Terraria 1.2 sized dlc, which pretty much adds new stuff to everything. Something like this:

- new biomes

- new characters

- new seasons

- new weather states

- new plants

- new resources

- new monsters

- new boss monsters

- new cave layers

- new craftables

- new gameplay mechanics

- dynamic world

Of course adding all these justifies a pricey dlc, or there could be the option to have cheaper smaller dlc packs. But make it more appealing to buy the "have it all" dlc by form of a discount. People who only want a few new things can buy the smaller dlc packs, and the people that buy the big one get rewarded with a discount to the price. And then everyone wins!

I honestly hope it's more cave content. If they add surface content in the DLC and not in the most recent updates...

Exactly why they should add more surface content, should it come down to either surface or cave content. The main reason for caves to be in the game anyways was to not upset the balance of the main game portion, aka the surface. Since dlc is optional, they can now finally provide some welcome new surface content, even a bigger plus if it adds more challenge to the game aswell.

And think about it, an optional dlc for an optional part of the game....

No. The caves are optional, so therefore they should have been DLC. That way the few who do genuinely enjoy caves and prefer them can choose to buy additional content for them. Their priority should have been the surface world which is the major part of the game.

I would have preferred cave worms or whatever for $0.99 and have new mechanics available to change the game around.

Exactly, they should but they didn't... So since it is what it is, surface content dlc please.

I like dead fish.

Mostly I'm hoping for all four seasons to get represented. I've always imagined the game would work well with an Autumn full of chances to find pumpkin patches and fight a Halloween-themed Boss mob. Perhaps the skeletons from various boons could be implemented in some way.

That is being offered through the user Halloween Mod challenge. Go here for more details.

Awesome! Please Klei read this!

I bet you a dead fish it's gonna be a nightmare world.

Maybe it's a biome resembling a barren wasteland, its inhabitants and vegetation only visible when insane...

Lol. Nightmare tools. Rocks that can only be mined when insane. Shadow trees. Everything gives you nightmare fuel. Just lol.

Crockpot recipes that use Nightmare Fuel! You can make the scariest food there is, a McDonald's Cheeseburger.

You drop manure every 12 seconds, are slowed down 33.3%, repulse all neutral creatures and attract hostile creatures with odor.

No way it's going to happen, but I'd love it if they'd make some "Nightmare Before Christmas" like locale. But since we have a Halloween content mod, ain't going to happen by Klei. My hopes are on our awesome modders though.
