"Acquainted? That one's talking about how he sometimes goes all dark and starts eating people. Which just sounds like me, on a bad day. And don't get me started on the sword thing." The little girl sighed, tilting her head and watching the others as if they were all some sort of mildly interesting ants wandering around the clearing.

"Just don't let them wander too far, Maxie. It's be a pain to drag them back." commented Whimper.

"No. Why do you even need to look for food? Instead, get used to that empty feeling in your stomach. You're going to live with it for a long time." sneered Whimper, grinning. She continued to hum quietly, waiting for something apparently. Every now and again, she glanced up at Maxwell expectantly.

"Hmmm! I sure am hungry. Maxie, try not to let any of these folk run away while I go grab a bite to eat, would you?" Whimper asked, voice dripping with mocking sarcasm. It's quite clear that she is enjoying the fact that Maxwell could now be treated like an equal instead of a superior.

The little girl got up, flexing her thin clawed hands as she strolled into the darkness, laughing. For a moment, her image distorts as the shadows of the trees engulf her and soon even her laughter echoes around the clearing, making it impossible to tell where she went, or for how long she will be gone for.

(Going to bed now - night guys!)
