Comatose
So, has anyone noticed how the Tallbirds are absolutely amazing pets? I mean, yeah sometimes they get moody and want their space, but even after you take their eggs it doesn't take long for the lofty aves to forgive you, Plus the sound they make when going to sleep is both horrifying and adorable. 501105
Agreed, taking their eggs is very easy and they are not that agressive in general, their eye is slightly creepy though.

Comatose
No, they charge me as well, But they give up When one Gets about ten in game distance units away.
Boy Weevil
I'd like to be able to put a rope around them and ride them about the land, kind of like the silt striders from the elder scrolls games.
LadyD
Dont live near them. Its not worth it.I put a camp next to their nests. Day was not fun. And they wake up if you steal...I got kicked. A lot.
Palpetinus
I think those tallbirds need to be a little faster, so you think twice about taking their valuable eggs..Also, they have huge freaking legs, but you are faster than them... Seems kinda strange to me.I think it would be cool if you needed to distract them somehow to get their eggs.

Seems kinda strange to me.I think it would be cool if you needed to distract them somehow to get their eggs.Their legs are very thin. No matter how long a leg is if there is no muscle to support it you would just fall over.
Developer Kevin Posted November 19, 2012 Developer Share Posted November 19, 2012 Their legs are very thin. Royal
I was just saying they wouldn't be fast, because of the size of their upper body tallbird are for the most part physiologically sound, especially given the wings bit , they just wouldn't be fast. But thanks for throwing some canon wing flapping in just for me Kevin. Now every time someone sees a tallbird they'll go "Her wings are flapping so fast I can't see them, I know that because of Royal." Score one for me. Palpetinus
Well, if i get tons of science points or food just for snatching a slowpoke's eggs, i'll take it
Comatose
I've never had a problem with their semi-aggressive behavior. Though with the knowledge of their wings, I would almost like to dub them Bumblebirds. Due to their Almost dodo Like nature when it comes to forgiveness after stealing of their eggs, and the aforementioned (Obviously) new semi-canon way they flap their wings to stay aloft. Royal
You know I was sad I couldn't make an omelette out of a few fried eggs and veggies in the crock pot but I guess it's a crock pot not a frying pan.
taylynne
The only time these guys have been aggressive to me was when I was mining. I picked up some gold and it went crazy and attacked me! But otherwise they've never been aggressive for me, I just make sure to not pick up gold around them... Creepy one eyed buggers

If you keep moving they won't mind. They don't like to be watched, that's all. They obviously have self-esteem issues.
Bogpad
What else can you do with an egg. Hmmmmm....wear a featherhat and breed tallbirds, like using the beefalo hat to breed beefalo?
Boy Weevil
I assumed the Beefalo hat would would simply protect you from the attacks of enraged mating Beefalo. Goose become extremely aggressive during mating season, and are known to violently attack humans. I wouldn't be surprised if Beefalo behaved in a similar fashion.
