I'm not surprised, the is absolutely the type of thing 2025 Klei would do.

Over promise, under deliver.

hey now, that's a pretty rude way to think of it. sure, we're all impatient and eager to see what happens, but our impatience doesn't give us the right to say that klei is skewing our expectations. good things take time, so we should give it to them

No it's not. I'm not responsible for how you view it though. But no, I don't think it is.

I think it's much ruder to be dishonest and not provide feedback on how I feel, you know - considering it's within a post discussing the ARG. Are there certain opinions that you don't want me to have?

Okay, I don't understand how the timer works at all. There's a theory that if it's half full after three days, it'll be full after three days, and all we can do is wait

i'm not saying you shouldn't be allowed to voice your feelings. i'm just saying that the way you did so was pretty harsh, and this kind of harsh commentary might discourage future endeavors.

you can absolutely say you feel like it's being handled poorly. but to phrase it as "the type of thing 2025 Klei would do" as if it's to be expected that the handling is poor? that doesn't come across as constructive, it just comes across as rude.

but like you said, i'm not responsible for how you feel or how you choose to share your thoughts any more than you are for mine. apologies if this was a bad conversation to have

It shouldn't. I think Klei are resilient enough to handle one person being disappointed, and if many people are disappointed - then yes, it might be wise to look at that.

You're welcome to not like what I said, but in future i'd request you use your inside voice maybe? Unless you sincerely want to convince me to change how I feel, pointing me out like this is for the audience - you'd have been welcome to message me too.

Not a bad conversation to have, just a bit redundant.

My point is based on the content updates of the year and the current view of parts of the community in relation to them. Sometimes things feel rude, my point is the sentiment attached, not the delivery.

If you're that bothered, just pretend I said it in a not rude way - you might feel better about it.

Absolutely, I hope you appreciate how annoying it is when someone demands that their preferences overrule someone elses autonomy. I only suggested you operate differently to highlight how it feels, to be clear - I'm pretty happy if you wanted to continue the convo, or that you pointed it out. I do have right of reply though, and in that it's going to make sense where I point out my issues with your claim

I'm not sure is it important, but if in browser (at least in Google Chrome) you focus maximally using ctrl + scroll, and start scrolling up and down all time holding ctrl, screen is folding like a piece of paper

That graphic is always on the screen. When you zoom in the graphic zooms in alongside your zooming, but when you continue zooming while the page is unable to zoom more the page doesn't change but the graphic still does. It doesn't mean anything.

So I clicked the hour glass like 5 times and when I go back to dark my fire pops down. I think this is just my computer hating me but wanted to share if it gets anyone farther.

The observed behavior so far seems to be that the fire graphic's been steadily lowering since the page went up last thursday. After finding the office view (?), turning it back to night sees the fire at its original full height for a few seconds then falling to whatever its "current" height is. So it sounds like you got what is presumably the currently intended behavior.

Upd: I've probably overplayed with excel, this calculation makes no sense so forget it.

GUYS GREAT NEWS!!!!

I've found that the diffference between each number is calculed as mod(previous value * 100 / 103). The sequence:

Maybe the "mod" is somehow related?

what is the "mod"?

I just want to point out that the "waiting" part of this ARG is very much following the same pattern as the previous DST ARG's.
Metheus and Cyclum was the exact same way. This is not new.

Through cinematics or otherwise we were able to find a a simple word like "cyclum" secretly hidden in the DST's launch trailer.

Metheus was very much the same, only here it was a hint to an in-game word/name that being uttered by the Fuelweaver with his "Metheus..." line.

Which both would lead to a website, both of which we had to wait to update for a whole week.
Cyclum would update every day with the portal materializing to be bigger and bigger until it would end with Maxwell falling through and the real puzzle would begin.
And Metheus would start off with the giant wall being unpainted only to update every day with a new visual on the wall until the very end where, again, the real puzzle would begin.

All in all there is nothing out of the ordinary, we're just not used to the whole waiting thing that's been laid dormant for years with ARG's and the insanity it brings.
They will not let us wait a week for something simple like a comic with no substance, i'll eat my own hat on that.

TLDR: The waiting part of previous ARG's and this one is not new, have some patience. :)

I have very little experience with ARGs, but I feel like we're missing something. The ARG was headed off with the message "You now have everything you need to begin!" after all.. I'm tempted to hope the countdown might lead to when the devs give another hint instead of the only way to progress, but that might be delusional.

Only thing I can think of is the image names (especially since some elements are explicitly draggable, but other elements are not) but I am abysmal at ciphers, and there's a good chance it's barking up a plastic tree.

Just in-case it isn't though, or as someone suggested the addPanel code is relevant, here's a compilation of most of the elements so far:

Interesting quirk(?): the website only tracks the hourglass/fire countdown initially, depending on which page you start on. It only begins tracking both once you switch to the other page. And the fire resets its position for some reason every time, so it waits for that 6-second update to pull it back down to where it's supposed to be.
