Wait so do the wastaff differentiate eachother by glove colour's???? Why does he have yellow gloves in the first shot of the horrors from beyond, then brown in that same video, and then white when taken by scion, but also in the animated short with scion he also has yellow gloves on???????

I got pretty close doing the machine puzzle by myself, but got stuck 3rd of the way up... Didn't think about starting to turn off the equipment.

Collected the book, pencil and note, and solved the note puzzle... What's next?

So I gave up and closed the tab. I did save my progress upto the 5th stage. When I came back to it in a new tab, it did work, and I managed to finish it after all.

A bunch of panels appear in the daytime comic when you spell the first code, then more when you spell, "Wagstaff". You could also post pictures of your comics progress so we can get a better idea where you are at.

I would double check you are spelling the codes right.

What gives? It would appear as if me pulling the lever up to the 6th stage is simply not registered, as when I adjust the slider thingies it reverts back to the 5th stage.

Glove color indicates their stance in the social hierarchy of their species.

I honestly enjoyed the control panel puzzle a lot. I was taking notes and writing down each step on notepad, but ultimately I gave up near the end and looked for a solution here because it bugged and I thought I was doing something wrong

I had the same issue happen on Opera GX, which I think is based on Chromium. The bug only seemed to happen when I didn't have the window maximized (I had the puzzle on the left and notepad on the right).

After activating the portal machine and unlocking the panels with the machine catching on fire, and clicking on Wagstaff's notes in the last panel, I noticed this image when inspecting the page in my browser:

Looks like a noisy transmission...?

Addendum: I ran it through a SSTV encoder but nothing came of it.

So you see, he was introduced to solve the continuity errors of having different gloves and motivations and keep the skill trees from going obsolete.

There are 2 Wagstaffs (greener shirt and bluer shirt) at a minimum. Working backwards:

Scion
Case for greener shirt: He replaced his yellow long gloves with a set of white long gloves. It's possible that the yellow one changed to white when he was brought over if it is not a new set.
Case for bluer shirt: As the greener counterpart, he had a set of white long gloves that we do not see him use either because he does not work on machines when we see him or he has a disposition to not use them.

Lunar Machinations
He appears as a projection in the Constant. The gloves are orange short gloves, possibly with lighting/artistic differences.

Scrappy Scavengers
He does not appear as a projection in the Constant. The gloves are orange short gloves.

Host of Horrors
He appears as a projection in the Constant. He also appears in Wilson's house. The gloves are orange short gloves.

Taking Root
He does not appear as a projection in the Constant. The gloves are orange short gloves.

Interference
He appears as a projection in the Constant. He also appears in Wilson's house. The gloves are orange short gloves.

Curse of The Moon Quay
He appears as a projection in the Constant.

Disconnected
His "canon" past self did not wear gloves while working.

Along Came A Spider
He did not wear gloves when handing over the caged spider.

Eye of the Storm
He appears as a projection in the Constant. The gloves are off-white short gloves, possibly with lighting/artistic differences.

Hamlet
He does not wear gloves.

Next of Kin
Winona pulls off his left yellow long glove, leaving him with his right yellow long glove. This aligns with the ARG, making him greener shirt Wagstaff.

Now, it's possible that the orange short gloves Wagstaff could be greener shirt Wagstaff or bluer shirt Wagstaff for the same reasons as Scion. When Scion takes him we do not see him wearing gloves, meaning that it's likely that the canon orange short gloves Wagstaff is the one still around despite canonically projecting himself to work on things in the Constant.

 

There are alternative explanations for having different gloves, such as picking up a pair closest to him or wearing different ones for different tasks/days, but now that it has been set this is what we have going forward.

Dude, doing the control panel stuff on mobile sucks, it's nearly impossible 😭

Eventually your movement of the levers just won't register, theres nothing you can really do about it, and you'll eventually just get red cause your stuff won't register 

Has anyone figured out how to get past this yet? I'm on Chrome and I don't have any other device to do this on

Edit: I kinda found a way through. It's finicky, but after your progress resets back to the last panel, if you rotate your screen it SOMETIMES fixes it. Almost made it to the end this way, just had to keep rotating my screen
