This is a personal issue, but I like living on Pearl's island sometimes and enjoy decorating her island to be pretty even when I don't base there.

Needing to evict Pearl and turn the island into a giant arena is very cool, but kind of sucks for me. Is there a possible way to have Wagstaff take over a Lunar satellite island or perhaps even a brand new island in the corner of the map?

I also don't like her being moved to Moon Quay, the quay is already somewhat annoying to sail to because of the raid potential.

Moving the fight to some other island would be both thematically and narratively unsatisfying. Pearl's Island is chosen as the location for Wagstaff's latest experiment because of the high amounts of lunar energy. The lunar island's fissures are constantly off-gassing lunar energy out into the air, but Pearl's fissures are plugged up with shells, meaning that the ground beneath her island is packed FULL of pure lunar energy that's just been building up the entire time she's lived there.

I really hope that we can rescue pearl from the moon quay island and bring her to the main land.

If any dev is reading this, I think this would be a perfect opportunity to create the "garden sprinkler" that people have been asking for. After you rescue pearl, she rediscovers her love for gardening (Some of her quotes imply that she used to be into gardening, like her berry bushes quotes), but since she's so old, she can't do the hard tasks anymore, however, she can still water the plants and she'd love to do it, it would remind her of the old days. So, you could move her to your garden and she'd be the last piece for automatic farms that generate giants. A good reward for such a lategame boss, IMO.

Lmao, this sucks so bad :applouse:

Yeah, sure, why the hell not; the one area the game actively suggests you pretty-up because there's a nice NPC living there is now primed for destruction. I guess the devs learned nothing from how frustrated people were with brightshades limiting their creativity

I can only imagine how thrilled the rest of the people who like to decorate Pearl's island cuz they like being nice to video game characters will be about this change

I dunno, the fight itself doesn't really have anything to do with Pearls supposedly energetic bursting island other than it's an island Wagstaff wants to run an experiment on because he already ruined the previous island option.

I get your point, but there's no real connection to a narrative, it's just eviction of a little old crab lady.

I don't see how it would be "unsatisfying" to not kick an old lady off of an island that we just spent like, a year improving for her?

Yeah I think it's a bit strange why use pearls. the ocean needs more places to visit don't use pearls Island to make this upgrade.

This could be an opportunity to create new exploration. That is desperately needed for this new rift content.

Why is it retreading old areas.

Yes. For now, Pearl's Island seems completely unnecessary in this quest line. Driving Pearl out of her home just seems to hurt the emotions accumulated by the player before for no reason, which is not good.

Wagstaff can definitely build WARBOT on any piece of land (such as Lunar Archipelago, where there is nothing, it is definitely a better choice). I hope the developers add some explanation about why Wagstaff MUST to use this island, or consider placing WARBOT in another location.

well a chunk of the playerbase DID say they hated pearl....guess this one is for them

also considering her bit with the plugged holes it is super interesting that this would be a place wagstaff would want to use(and considering his disregard for life it is in his character to pick one of the only fully inhabited places in the whole world as his arena and to have -you- his patsy choose between a living person and the pursuit of cracked science)

Hey, I wanted her quest line to be simplified or at least moved somewhere closer. I didn't want her evicted.

I didn't vote for this.

I think there's a good chance that the devs will not leave Pearl hanging in this horrible state. I think there might be some post-victory world events that will lead to Pearl being in a good spot, or maybe even making the monkeys nice as she lives there.

We are absolutely meant to feel distraught over Pearl's situation here.

yeah i'm surprised they decided to go this route, they had to have known it would make some people upset. Personally I am not one of those people, and i'm happy to see them move forward and innovate in some way. my condolences for the loss

Okay, so I looked at all the new Wagstaff quotes and dialogue. All of that is just false. He never says he wants the island because it's packed with lunar energy. You literally made that up to justify evicting Pearl and destroying all the things we had built for her. And if it is crawling with lunar energy like you say, then the satellite islands should suffice just as much.

Wagstaff also never says that isn't the case. Quotes from the characters for the Plugged Fissure (Wendy, Wigfrid, Wortox, Wormwood, Walter) all insinuate the fissure being plugged is what makes so the gestalts are trapped inside, don't you wonder why you don't get the enlightenment effect when you are on Pearl's Island? Saying that energy is trapped there isn't far fetched at all. We can also see Wagstaff's Fulcronial Selector (what he calls the "lever" to start the boss) comes and goes from inside the ground.

From all that we can assume the Moon Island as a whole doesn't have comparable amounts of lunar energy for his experiments since its fissures are always open.

Can we say with 100% certainty that is the case and there is no other option? No. But from all clues the game has given us that does seem like what is happening, this basically has been how players have been getting their lore outside of the animated shorts.

I personally would love to be able to hammer everything Wagstaff put on her island and tell him to ... go somewhere else, maybe that will be a choice for the player? Doing so branches the quest in another direction or something idk

I think some are being too sentimental. It's a nice twist where Pearl is kicked off the island for an experiment. It doesn't always have to be roses and rainbows. Overall, I think this is a pretty good change to one of the key areas, and I'd like to see more of this. I've seen some people suggest adding the ability to move Pearl to the mainland, maybe that makes sense.

I'm not that sentimental, but it really sucks to destroy old island since there are more than enough space for multiple new islands...

In fact, it was this island that allowed this plot twist to be achieved. In fact, it was this island that emphasized Wagstaff's character.

I don't agree because it is not Wagstaff doing this stuff - it is us who evict Pearl and it feels random and untasteful. Especially knowing that she helped us and we already killed her husband and it also felt sad.
