Admittedly I think I used a bad vocabulary choice (I blame me waiting for IRL events while I was in the back of a car and replying on my phone...), so I do apologize for that. Swiyss
the sawdust idea is the stupidest thing I've ever seen someone build in this entire game. Klei please just reduce the time between trades so that the chinese community can stop rotating boats and building like 16 sawdusts to trade 1 second faster. 2 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/165136-what-are-chinese-players-playing/page/2/#findComment-1810065 Share on other sites
adminaaassh
I have modified this post to make the language less aggressive in an English-speaking environment (probably? I’m not sure if AI translation can fully capture the intended tone, but at least in Chinese, the original text is quite neutral and common). If there are any other issues, feel free to discuss them. Personally, I want to make this post as long and detailed as possible by analyzing various game mechanics discovered on Chinese internet platforms, as well as sharing some great videos, and then posting it on the forums. Some people in the Chinese community have already started calling me a “traitor.” They believe that sharing these game mechanics on the forums is an act of betrayal because they fear the developers might indiscriminately "fix" them. They are also disillusioned with the forum environment. However, I personally believe that communication is crucial. (It seems odd to me that Chinese players would discover interesting mechanics but refuse to communicate with the developers due to preconceived notions about them, thus creating a closed and unfriendly internal cycle. This doesn’t seem reasonable to me, and this is the key point of my third point.) While explaining various mechanics, I will also include some of my own opinions. Some game designs are honestly quite baffling, so I’ll also add a few side comments here and there. 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/165136-what-are-chinese-players-playing/page/2/#findComment-1810463 Share on other sites

nimzowitsch10
these are all great farms but not necessary in endgame. I also have some great farms but I'm afraid they will be patched soon as I post them Here's a tweak to the marotter farm, instead of using catapults use tentacle books and that will farm them much easier and faster. Cassielu
I think bug fix doesn't matter here, what matters is that Klei offers new content that is even less playable than these bugs but actively taking them away. Klei took away the Monkey cannon, but Pure Brilliant Catapult, the "replacement" they offered had none of the same playability, exploitability, expansibility of the Monkey cannon, just a tool for fishing and destruction with a mouse click, It's just an unscrupulous way to get a digitized reward. Where in the past we had herd, sanity, temperature, boat, fire, RWYP farm and other mechanics to explore and get rewarded/motivate from it, now we have only simple brain-dead skilltree perk, pure WASD action combat, item interactions without any internal logic, and planar damage numbers games, they do not encourage or motivate you to explore or learn anything, only allow you to follow a easy plain prescribed path. As if they didn't think learn, develop and use game mechanics was fun for the player. This is an absolute betrayal of original concept of this game. On 3/31/2025 at 7:10 AM, BezKa said: when games that support and expand on it exist This is not true, it has always been supportive - although not direct in auto farm level, but in the last two years has become completely unsupportive and discouraged from any mechanical exploration and discovery. adminaaassh
Principle Explanation: In a previous video, I introduced using Hounds to drive away schools of fish. However, a much simpler method involves using a Clay Hound, as it is nearly invincible and completely safe. (Since the Clay Hound is not activated, you can even use it to trap certain creatures, such as the Bearger.) Another game mechanic at play is that Winona’s Catapult exhibits an attack offset when targeting specific objects at certain placements, such as Stone Walls or Wood Gates. This offset is why attacks can reach targets in the water. The Wood Gate is specifically chosen because, even if destroyed, it refunds all the materials used for crafting. (I am quite puzzled as to why the fuel value provided by the Wood Gate is only 15 seconds, considering it is crafted from two Boards and one Rope. Logically, it should provide more fuel.) How to Obtain an Inactive and Safe Clay Hound First, you need to enable the Year of the Varg event. Then, search for a Suspicious Dirt Pile in the wild. Before investigating the Suspicious Dirt Pile, make sure to build and activate the Varg Shrine—this is crucial because you can only find a Clay Varg while the shrine is activated. Once you do this, you will encounter a Clay Varg along with 12 Clay Hounds. Normally, approaching the Clay Varg will instantly activate all Clay Hounds, causing them to attack you. To prevent this, teleport the Clay Varg to a remote location that you and your teammates rarely visit. (Make sure your teammates also stay away from it, as getting too close will activate all the Clay Hounds.) After relocating the Clay Varg, use a Telelocator Focus to teleport the Clay Hounds one by one to the locations where you want to utilize them. How to Place the Clay Hound Closer to the Water You can start by placing a Dock Kit in advance. Then, position the Telelocator Focus exactly at the point indicated by the arrow in my diagram. After that, use Gunpowder to destroy the Dock Kit. (Unfortunately, I failed in the video because I picked the wrong spot, but this method does work.) The benefit of this approach is that it prevents the Clay Hound from being too far away, ensuring it can effectively drive away the fish schools. How to Obtain a Large Amount of Electric Milk Simply put, Willow’s Lunar Fire-Raiser skill can stack the charged effect from Volt Goat Chaud-Froid. When Willow uses Lunar Fire-Raiser to attack a Volt Goat, the goat will enter a charged state, allowing it to drop Electric Milk upon milking. However, Willow will also take damage from the Volt Goat's electric shock, so you need to wear a Rain Coat or other insulating gear to avoid taking damage. (As for how to set up a Volt Goat farm, I believe many people in the English-speaking community are already familiar with the process. My main focus here is to highlight Willow’s unique ability.) Additionally, an interesting mechanic worth mentioning is that when W.O.B.O.T. is outside of the screen’s range, it will ignore all obstacles and shoreline distances while working. Equipping W.O.B.O.T. with a Cookie Cutter Cap is beneficial because among all rainproof gear that does not lose durability over time, it has the highest waterproofing at 35%—the same as the Brightshade Helm. While there are better waterproofing options like the Eyebrella, those items gradually lose durability over time. You can also stack the Cookie Cutter Cap with the Above-Average Tree Trunk for even higher rain protection. Additional Note: The Above-Average Tree Trunk can significantly drop your game’s frame rate, especially as more trees are planted closer together over time. Some players have also reported that it might negatively affect server performance, though I’m not entirely sure if that’s confirmed. Hopefully, the developers will consider optimizing this issue in the future. How to Obtain a Large Amount of Mourning Glory Basic Principle When Wendy learns the Pipspook Quest I skill, it reduces the search range for Pipspook’s lost toys to 75 wall units (where 1 Turf tile = 4 wall units). If there is no land within this range, Pipspook will drop Mourning Glory on the spot instead of leading Wendy to a toy. Optimizing the Process Headstone Placement: The distance between two Headstones should be greater than 50 wall units to ensure more Little Scares (mini ghosts) appear. Boat Setup: Placing multiple Headstones on a boat increases the likelihood of Pipspook spawning in the ocean. Why Place Multiple Headstones on a Boat? If a world has only one Wendy, then each Headstone has at most a 15% chance of spawning a Pipspook (with the Pipspook Quest I skill learned). More Headstones = Higher chances of Pipspooks appearing, making it easier to farm Mourning Glory efficiently. This method takes advantage of Pipspook’s mechanics to generate Mourning Glory quickly, without the need for constant land-based searches. How to Stack a Large Number of Evil Flowers As shown in the video, over 100 Evil Flowers have been stacked and planted in this location. This setup takes advantage of the reversed effect of the Bee Queen Crown to rapidly restore Sanity. I believe the method for stacking buildings has already been widely shared on English-speaking websites, so I won’t go into detail about that here. Instead, I’ll briefly explain other principles behind this setup. Using Deconstruction Staff and Construction Amulet Alternately By repeatedly using the Deconstruction Staff and Construction Amulet to build and dismantle a Glossamer Saddle, you can obtain a large number of Butterfly Wings. Reviving Butterflies with Wendy’s Mourning Glory I Skill Use Wendy’s Mourning Glory I skill to revive a large number of Butterflies and then plant flowers. Using Winona to Collect Fragile Roses Switch to Winona and collect Fragile Roses. Place a Steering Wheel at a fixed point. Use the Bone Helm and Grim Galette to die quickly. After dying, switch back to Winona and repeat the process. (Yes, repeatedly switching characters resets their ability cooldowns. This allows you to obtain a large number of Calibrated Perceivers (used for unlocking technology) and Fragile Roses. My stacking location is relatively close to my base, but if it were farther away, you would need multiple players and The Lazy Deserter, or another method.) Bonus Trivia If you use Garlic Powder to season Grim Galette and then wear the Bone Helm before eating it, you will retain 1/3 of your health. This isn’t particularly useful, but it’s an interesting detail. Personal Opinion on Wendy’s Skills (You Can Skip This Part) Wendy’s skills feel tedious and uninteresting. To optimize this character’s abilities, you need to go through a complex and time-consuming resource-gathering process. This might not be too noticeable in a short-term world, but in a long-term playthrough, it becomes increasingly frustrating. Compared to other characters, Wendy’s prerequisites are extremely demanding. While her abilities may be useful in team-based combat, if you play solo, you almost have to pair her with a Beefalo. In my opinion, this forced synergy reduces the game’s freedom. At first glance, Wendy’s skills may seem creative, but the complexity of her setup and the inconvenience during combat make her quite dull—especially in long-term worlds. The longer you play, the more tedious she becomes. (I could say more, but I’ll leave it at that.) How to Build a Dock That Doesn't Connect to the Shore This is quite simple. As shown in the image, follow these steps: Find a three-tile-wide Coastal Ocean area. Place a Vine Bridge. In the middle of the second tile, place a Dock Kit. Wait for the Vine Bridge to disappear. Once the Vine Bridge expires, you will have a dock that is not connected to the shore. Alternative, More Complex Method There's another way to achieve this, though it's a bit trickier. Ice Fishing Holes generate in the Rough Ocean area. During winter, Ice Floes expand to their maximum range. Occasionally, the edge of a fully expanded Ice Floe will be adjacent to a Coastal Ocean. If you place a Dock Kit on the edge of the Ice Floe, then wait for the Ice Floe to break apart, the dock will remain, resulting in a floating dock that is not connected to the shore. How to Obtain Large Quantities of Ethereal Ember, Soul, Stinger, and Honey I won’t go into details about stacking multiple buildings in the same spot, as this method is widely known. Similarly, you’re likely aware that Ice Flingomatics can be used to freeze mobs by misdirecting snowballs via masts. The use of Monkeytails to prevent Brightshade Gestalts from parasitizing structures is also a well-known technique. Frankly, there’s not much to explain about this entire setup. However, there are a few key optimizations that might be worth mentioning: 1. Choosing the Right Bush Hat Skin Use the Cawnival Collection skin for the Bush Hat. This skin has a larger visual appearance, making it easier to click on during gameplay. 2. Utilizing Mudslinger’s Zero-Damage Attack Mudslinger’s attack deals 0 damage, meaning it won’t drain armor durability. If you wear a Bramble Husk, you won’t take damage from its thorns effect. 3. Planting Flowers for Extra Honey If you want additional Honey, plant more flowers nearby. In my setup, I have over 70 Bee Boxes. If you're playing in a multiplayer world, the area may cause lag during the day, but performance should return to normal once you leave. 4. Maximizing Bee Output in Spring Each Bee Box spawns: 6 Bees in Spring (higher production) 4 Bees in other seasons Use Willow’s Burning Frenzy skill to forcefully drive out all bees from the Bee Boxes. Follow up with Spontaneous Combustion to obtain a large number of Ethereal Embers. Be sure to extinguish fires quickly to prevent the Bee Boxes or other structures from burning down. 5. Efficiently Collecting Souls as Wortox Prepare plenty of Soul Jars to store Souls. Subscribe to a local mod that automatically deposits Souls into Soul Jars. If you don’t do this, and your clicking speed isn’t fast enough, excess Souls will disappear before you can collect them. How to Efficiently Farm Large Amounts of Silk and Spider Glands There’s not much to explain here—it mainly comes down to understanding the mechanics behind it. Key Principle Spiders that die within the designated red box area will not drop Den Decorating Sets. Shattered Spider Holes are chosen because they do not transform into Spider Queens. Alternatively, you can use Spilagmites (underground) or Spider Dens placed on boats to achieve a similar effect. Luring and Farming Spiders Use a non-rotting Tallbird Egg to attract Spiders. Since Spiders are friendly toward you, you can safely enter the area and collect loot without being attacked. This method ensures a steady and safe supply of Silk and Spider Glands without unnecessary hassle. Two Quick Methods to Pass Through Walls This can be very useful, especially for setting up various mechanisms. For example, if you don’t want to place doors that might let certain creatures in, you can use these two methods instead. Method 1: Using a Chair on a Damaged Wall Place a Chair on a damaged Wall. Sit on the chair, and you will be able to move inside the wall. Method 2: Using Four Doors Find a gap between two walls. Set up four doors and repeatedly pass through them to move across the wall. How to Safely Use the Unnatural Portal This is quite simple and doesn’t require much explanation. The design is straightforward and allows you to safely collect all loot that falls into the water. Key Safety Tips Clear surrounding objects before using the portal. Place a Lightning Rod nearby to prevent lightning from destroying your setup. How to Permanently Block a Leak on a Boat In the video, I demonstrated two items that are not commonly used but can permanently block a leak on a boat: Wind-up Mouse Toy from the Year of the Catcoon event Beefalo Gloom Bell (when bound) Additionally, there are a few other methods to block leaks permanently: Celestial Orb Pumpkin Lantern (Note: This has a time limit) Zero-durability Floating Lantern (You can get this by using a Durability Trap with an Ornate Chest to achieve zero durability on the Floating Lantern) Other creatures, such as No-Eyed Deer, can also permanently block the leak. Additional Notes I’m unsure why Chester can’t block this leak—could it be that Chester isn’t considered a creature in the game’s code? The code suggests that Wood Walls can repair boats, but in practice, Wood Walls can’t actually be used to repair boats. How to Determine Tumbleweed Spawn Points I think there’s not much to explain here. Simply put, Tumbleweeds have spawn points in the Badlands area. Here's how you can determine where they spawn: Block off the Badlands area first. Open up the Tumbleweed spawn points in all other areas. Then, divide the Badlands area into two parts, and continue splitting each part into smaller sections (into quarters, and so on). Gradually, you’ll be able to identify the exact Tumbleweed spawn points. Bonus Info It's worth noting that a long time ago, Tumbleweeds could be used to find Fireflies, but this was changed in a patch. I think it’s a shame because it was a fun mechanic. How to Use Beefalo's Collision Volume I think this one’s pretty straightforward. Essentially, we can use Beefalo’s collision volume to block certain creatures from attacking us, such as the Bee Queen or Dragonfly. However, there are a few things to keep in mind: Beefalo’s collision volume is quite small and should be similar to a character’s own collision size, which means it might not be effective against larger creatures or in some situations. While this technique can block some attacks, we would still need to deal with Lavae and Grumble Bees. Drawbacks It’s not incredibly useful in the long term. It requires a significant amount of resources to use. Beefalo Horns can easily destroy this setup, so the method may not be very practical for sustained use. How to Build a Safe Farming Area As shown in the image, here are a few methods to establish a safe farming area: Using a Boat and Bunnyman (or Other Creatures) to Attract Deadly Brightshade's Aggression Place a boat in the water and surround it with walls to contain a Bunnyman or another creature. The creature will attract the Deadly Brightshade's aggression, keeping it away from your crops. Freezing Deadly Brightshade with Ice Crystaleyezer and Ice Staff You can place the Deadly Brightshade in the frozen range of an Ice Crystaleyezer. Use an Ice Staff to freeze the Deadly Brightshade. However, keep in mind that reloading the game or restarting the server will cause this method to fail. You would need to repeat the process. Creating an Extensive Farming Zone Build a large farming area, as shown in the image. Inside the green circle area, no other Deadly Brightshade will spawn. Outside the red circle, Deadly Brightshade will not actively attack. Personal Opinion on Deadly Brightshade Design I personally feel that the Deadly Brightshade design is a complete failure. While it has interesting mechanics on the surface, it ultimately sacrifices the game’s freedom. Here’s why: Massive Facility Requirement: Players are forced to build huge structures just to grow crops, such as: Building near the shore, Creating a controlled temperature zone with Ice Crystaleyezer and Scaled Furnace, Freezing Deadly Brightshade every time you restart the server. Alternatively, you can move underground to farm, but then you need to place Pillar Scaffold to prevent Boulders from destroying your crops. Deadly Brightshade's Impact on Friendly Fruit Fly: Once your crops grow into Deadly Brightshade, Friendly Fruit Flies are unlikely to survive, as most players won’t bother moving them. Lack of Freedom: The Deadly Brightshade completely limits the player’s freedom. Instead of giving players the option to choose, it forces them to create large, complex setups with multiple limitations just to farm on the surface. In my opinion, this design is a step back. It’s similar to the old sick plants that were removed from the game. While it seemed like a unique mechanic, it ended up being a hassle, especially in long-term worlds where the inconvenience becomes even more pronounced. A good game design should offer choices, not force the player into a particular path. I believe that the Deadly Brightshade issue could be easily fixed, and I hope the developers make some changes or add new items. Personally, I prefer the first option. How to Make Lureplant Collect Stone Fruit or Geode Fruit Without Digesting Them To achieve this, you need to control the growth of Eye Plants and carefully manage the items that Lureplant consumes. Here's how you can do it: Limit Eye Plant Growth First, restrict the Eye Plant's growth area within the screen’s range so it won’t interfere with your setup. Obtain Walter's Ammo Get Walter’s ammo—personally, I recommend Pebbles since they are cheap to craft. Pebbles are the most stacked item in the game, with a max stack size of 120. Prevent Consumption of Loot The Lureplant consumes items in the order they were received. By providing an item with a large stack size (like Pebbles) early, you can prevent the Lureplant from digesting any loot that appears afterward. To ensure this, craft 240 Pebbles from 16 Stones. This will guarantee that the Lureplant won't digest any loot for the next 15 days. Managing Inventory Space Lureplant has 14 available slots for items (the 15th slot is reserved for Leafy Meat, so it can’t be used). This setup allows you to safely collect naturally growing items, especially Stone Fruit and Geode Fruit. Efficiency Keep in mind that Stone Fruit isn’t the most efficient source, but this method helps you collect those items without them being digested by the Lureplant. In short, by using Pebbles to occupy space, you can safely harvest and store Stone Fruit or Geode Fruit without worrying about the Lureplant consuming them. A Simple Device to Obtain a Large Number of Loyal Merm Guards This setup doesn’t need much explanation. Here's the process: Attracting Loyal Merm Guards Within a 3.5 Turf radius, Loyal Merm Guards are first attracted by Armermry or Swamp Brawler Helmet. You can use Merms to gather a large number of Loyal Merm Guards. Collecting Additional Items While doing this, you can also collect a small amount of Freshwater Fish and Frog Legs from the Merms. If you don’t need to hire Loyal Merm Guards, you can attack them for even more Freshwater Fish and Frog Legs. Hiring Loyal Merm Guards If you need to hire the Loyal Merm Guards, you will need to break aggro (their hostility) by using methods such as dying or wearing Snurtle Shell Armor or other methods. Once you’ve broken aggro, you can hire the Loyal Merm Guards. This setup is a great way to acquire a large number of Loyal Merm Guards while also getting extra items like Freshwater Fish and Frog Legs, depending on your needs. How to Obtain a Large Number of Fish Cordon Bleu The process is fairly simple to explain. Here’s how you can do it: Modify Loyal Merm Guard’s Patrol Behavior Use walls and an Armermry to alter the Loyal Merm Guard's patrol pattern so that they gather at the entrance (door). Use Winona’s Catapult to Kill Loyal Merm Guards Once the Loyal Merm Guards are gathered at the door, use Winona's Catapult to kill a large number of them. This will drop Freshwater Fish and Frog Legs, which are essential for making Fish Cordon Bleu. Specifically, two Freshwater Fish and two Frog Legs can be combined to make Fish Cordon Bleu. Wurt's Role and Warly's Crafting Wurt can use the Community Feeder and her Hardheaded skill to help boost the process. With the Superior Communal Kelp Dish filled with Kelp Fronds, Warly can continuously craft Fish Cordon Bleu. Note that one Superior Communal Kelp Dish can affect up to 20 Merm Flort-ifications, so it can boost the Merm population, though you might need to find the correct angle to interact with it (as demonstrated in the video). Optional: Hire Loyal Merm Guards If you need to, you can also hire Loyal Merm Guards for additional assistance. Important Reminder Don’t upgrade King of the Merms because this will make Loyal Merm Guards harder to kill, which can slow down the process. This method allows you to mass-produce Fish Cordon Bleu in a relatively efficient manner, especially when combined with Wurt and Warly’s abilities. How to Obtain a Large Amount of Slurtle Slime Here’s a simple guide on how to gather Slurtle Slime efficiently: Attracting Slurtles Slurtles are primarily attracted to Minerals placed on the ground, followed by the Minerals in chests. You can feed them Walter’s ammo, and I personally recommend using Pebbles because they are easy and cheap to craft. Feeding Slurtles Once the Pebbles are eaten, you can open the door and place more Pebbles to continue the cycle. This will allow you to attract Slurtles and get a steady supply of Slurtle Slime. Challenges and Efficiency The main challenge is attracting Slurtles to a designated location because they are extremely slow. However, once they are in place, the efficiency of this method is very high. Use of Slurtle Slime Slurtle Slime can be used to make Slimy Salve, which provides protection from Acid Rain and ensures that Slurtles won’t actively attack you, as well as preventing Snurtles from running away. It can also be used as a substitute for Gunpowder. Previously, Walter’s Poop Pellets could be eaten by Slurtles (this was a bug, and it has since been fixed by the developers, which is unfortunate because it was an interesting mechanic). High Yield Even with Pebbles, the yield of Slurtle Slime is still very high, making this method an efficient way to gather it. This method is an excellent way to gather Slurtle Slime for crafting Slimy Salve or for using in place of Gunpowder. It also offers a fun mechanic (although the fix on Poop Pellets was a bit of a disappointment). How to Obtain a Safe Ancient Archive Area The Ancient Archive area is mostly safe, except for the Ancient Sentrypede, which is the only danger in the area. This place is otherwise an ideal location for establishing a base because: Earthquakes won’t drop any items here. The area has permanent lighting. It is beautiful and visually appealing. However, it is a bit far from the Stairs, which makes transporting resources somewhat inconvenient. Here are three methods to handle the Ancient Sentrypede and make the area safe: Method 1: Attracting Ancient Sentrypede to the Sealed Portal Area You can lure the Ancient Sentrypede to the Sealed Portal area and kill it there. The Security Pulse from the Sealed Portal won’t affect that area, which makes it a relatively safe place to handle the Sentrypede. Note: I don’t recommend this method because future updates may introduce a change to the Sealed Portal area, potentially adding a function to it. Method 2: Attracting the Sentrypede to the Lunar Grotto Alternatively, you can attack the Ancient Sentrypede to draw it to the Lunar Grotto. Similar to the Sealed Portal, the Security Pulse won’t reach the Lunar Grotto, making it safe to deal with the Sentrypede there. Note: This method is also not highly recommended, as the Ancient Sentrypede might have a future role in updates, which could make this approach less ideal. Method 3: Using Reinforced Dreadstone Pillars to Block the Sentrypede The most complicated method involves using multiple Reinforced Dreadstone Pillars to block the Ancient Sentrypede in a specific area of the Ancient Archive. The terrain of the Ancient Archive can be used to your advantage by trapping the Sentrypede in a corner or behind Pillars, which will keep it contained and prevent it from attacking. This is demonstrated in the video where the Sentrypede is trapped behind the Pillars in the Ancient Archive area. Conclusion: The Ancient Archive is a great place to set up a base, with permanent light and no item drops during earthquakes, but it’s important to deal with the Ancient Sentrypede first. The methods above allow you to safely clear the area, though some of them might become less relevant as future updates are released. I originally planned to build a Grass and Sapling farm in this area (you can check out my previous video for more details). I just want to mention that if there are too many Grass and Saplings, it might cause your server to lag. We all know that walking in the Void has been fixed, but we can still use the Void for some purposes. For example, we can use the Wood Gate to enter the Atrium area or return from the Atrium area, or even use it to travel across other underground regions. How to Obtain a Large Number of Mini Glaciers I think this is worth explaining in detail. First, Mini Glaciers generated within the range of an Ice Crystaleyezer follow specific mechanics: A Mini Glacier will form every 7–12 days within 5–12 wall units around the Ice Crystaleyezer. The maximum number of Mini Glaciers that can exist simultaneously within 12 wall units of an Ice Crystaleyezer is six (as shown in the area between the two red circles in the image). If a Mini Glacier is destroyed on a Dock, its base will remain in the water. We can then move the base using boats to another Mini Glacier spawn area. Over time, these Mini Glaciers will regrow, and they can be harvested quickly using a Cannon or Winona’s Catapult. Key Details & Mechanics The core idea is simple, but there are many important details to keep in mind: Avoid placing Mini Glaciers between two Docks If a Mini Glacier is between two Docks, the first Dock explosion will destroy the ice layers on the Mini Glacier. The second Dock explosion will completely remove the Mini Glacier’s base, causing it to disappear permanently. Control the Growth Area Using Walls, Mini Signs, or other objects, you can restrict the area where Mini Glaciers grow. If you manage this well, you can control the arrangement of Mini Glaciers (as shown in the example image). The exact growth mechanics of Mini Glaciers are complex—if anyone knowledgeable about the game’s code can provide more details, feel free to share! Resource-Intensive Process This method consumes a lot of Dock Kits and takes a significant amount of time. If the number of Mini Glaciers is too low, the Ice yield will also be low. Preventing Melting You must stay within the Ice Crystaleyezer’s range to prevent Mini Glaciers from melting. Keep away from heat sources, as Mini Glaciers will disappear quickly if exposed to high temperatures. By following this method, you can obtain a large number of Mini Glaciers and efficiently harvest Ice for various uses! How to Dispose of Large Amounts of Junk This method is very simple. Pirate raiders will delete everything on their ship when they leave—except for unique items (e.g., Stag Antler). By using this mechanic, we can remove a large amount of unwanted gear, such as Night Armor and Dark Swords. Key Details & Optimization Put All Junk on the Pirates’ Ship Gather all the items you want to dispose of. Ensure they are placed on the pirates’ ship before they leave. Use the Pan Flute at Night Pirate Monkeys will wake up quickly if put to sleep during the day. If you use the Pan Flute at night or close to nighttime, they will stay asleep for the entire night. This gives you more time to load junk onto the ship without wasting too many Pan Flute uses. For Small-Scale Disposal If you only have a small amount of junk, you can use a Lureplant’s Eye Plant to absorb and delete items instead. By following this method, you can efficiently clear out large amounts of unwanted items with minimal effort! How to Plant Above-Average Tree Trunk on Dock Kit This method allows you to grow a dense cluster of Mossy Vines on Dock Kit, but be warned: excessive Above-Average Tree Trunks will severely drop your FPS and may even slow down your server. Use this method cautiously, and preferably in single-player mode. Step-by-Step Guide Set Up the Base Find a central point of an ocean Turf. Place a boat exactly at the center. Position the Pinchin' Winch Place the Pinchin' Winch at (1,1) grid coordinates on the ocean Turf. Prepare and Grow Knobbly Trees Put a large number of Knobbly Tree Nuts into the water. Let them gradually grow into Knobbly Trees. Continuously fertilize them to accelerate growth. Important: Only when one Knobbly Tree turns into an Above-Average Tree Trunk can the others start growing. This process takes a long time, so be patient. Convert All Trees to Above-Average Tree Trunks Keep fertilizing until all Knobbly Trees become Above-Average Tree Trunks. Deploy the Dock Kit Once all trees are fully grown, place Dock Kit underneath them. Congratulations! Now you have a high-density Mossy Vine farm. Each Above-Average Tree Trunk can support 4-5 Mossy Vines. Warning & Performance Issues ⚠️ Serious FPS Drop & Possible Server Lag Having too many Above-Average Tree Trunks will significantly lower your frame rate. It may also cause server lag (not confirmed). Recommendation: If you insist on using this method, it's best to play in single-player mode to avoid performance issues. Small Trick: Zero-Damage Walter’s Poop Pellets This is a simple trick that does not require much explanation: Walter’s Poop Pellets deal zero damage. They do not consume the durability of Bramble Husk. However, they still trigger the Bramble Husk’s area-of-effect damage. This is an old mechanism, but I still think it’s worth mentioning because it represents some player creativity. Simply put, the trajectory of the Cannon's Cannonball deals damage, and the mechanism works by having the Powder Monkey continuously fire the cannon. Meanwhile, the player stands at the Steering Wheel and reads Applied Silviculture to summon Terrorclaw. Since Terrorclaw spawns at the nearest edge of the boat relative to the player, we can use the Cannonball's trajectory to damage it. This method allowed for farming a large amount of Nightmare Fuel. However, it no longer works because Powder Monkey now adjusts the Cannonball's trajectory when firing. What I want to say is that Icker’s way of obtaining Nightmare Fuel is quite monotonous. How to Use the Player's Screen Range to Kill Various Creatures I believe many people already know this, but I still think it's worth explaining. Simply put, the red line in the image above represents the player's screen range. Creatures outside this range remain inactive, while those within it are active. We can use this mechanic to our advantage by controlling certain elements to attack creatures beyond the screen range. For example, Winona's Catapult or Tentacles can be used to deal damage to enemies that are outside the screen, allowing us to attack without triggering their movement or aggression. According to my group members, if you share certain so-called "game mechanics" on the forums, the developers may treat them as bugs and fix them. This is because they have a relatively shallow understanding of the game and are unlikely to consider how interesting these mechanics might be. Instead, they adjust things based on their instincts and difficulty levels, without realizing how much joy we felt when discovering these mechanics—how many hours we spent testing, how much original code we combed through. To them, this is just work... And after these so-called "fixes," part of the forum community will defend the developers, insisting that these changes are "reasonable." They won't consider how much time and effort Chinese players spent discovering these mechanics, how much code they read, or how happy they were when they found something new... When Klei fixed an exploit that let people use a clientside mod to become permanently invulnerable (and if I remember right it also negatively impacted random players who weren't even using the mod) you guys were saying stuff like this. 4 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/165136-what-are-chinese-players-playing/page/2/#findComment-1810631 Share on other sites
Dingle
5 hours ago, adminaaassh said: Principle Explanation: In a previous video, I introduced using Hounds to drive away schools of fish. These are all super interesting! Really fun to see, please keep them coming. I'm saying this as a non megabaser that gets to day 200 tops before restarting. Most of these are things I would never use, but seeing the ingenuity is still great. I did learn two things I will use: 1. The forest stalker rotating boat, for when I'm playing with a maxwell 2. The baiting a deadly brightshade with a walled bunnyman on a boat. I am actually going to change my base design to adopt this! Would this work on other things besides chester or pigmen? Would it work on a rabbit or saladmander? adminaaassh
I've finished explaining all the details of the new video and have also added some of my own thoughts. I have to say that some aspects of the game's design, in my opinion, lack thorough consideration from multiple perspectives. Hopefully, the developers will take notice. Writing a lot of text and using AI translation has been exhausting. I'm not sure if the AI can fully interpret my words, so feel free to ask if anything is unclear. If you’ve learned something new, that makes me very happy. oregu
cool setups you have. i particularly like the usage of event items cause its not something i see too often in builds. at first i overlooked how useful dreadstone pillars could be for this but it does seem to be useful. and the translations seem fine. this remind me of nol's videos. i like that channel Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/165136-what-are-chinese-players-playing/page/2/#findComment-1810868 Share on other sites

Uedo
The reason you won't see much of this on the forums from the west is largely because of the demographics of who use it and how they play the game, a lot of the farms you've used are on youtube but the community here are largely not focused on using these mechanics that's all. Powder monkies have been a game changer for making farms a little bit more automated or large-scale harvesting projects, but you wont see many posts about them it doesn't mean people arn't using them though. It's a shame sometimes though, cause you're right, you won't see people share stuff like this often over here and making farms/factories are really fun for me so it's nice to know the chinese community share this a lot more. To relocate frostjaw, like most mobs, you can probably make it go onto a boat using fence gates, and then off a boat into the water. When you start the fight, the frostjaw tries to do the ice wall attack, but freezing cancels it, so I guess the brain tries to do it again because it wasn't successful. Sometime ago within the past year, complex projectile trajectory from sources on ships were fixed to account for the speed that the ship the ship is going, This includes ice flingomatics. This recalculation doesn't account for the actual velocity of the boat. The boat is going a fast speed but into the land with sails. So that's why it doesnt stop, because it keeps trying to water the grass tufts but it doesn't land close enough. Not that many flingos, sails, or grass tufts are needed for this setup to work (you can use 2 sails, 1 flingo, and 8 grass tufts at minimum), but I'm guessing the additional parts are to make it easier or faster. 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/165136-what-are-chinese-players-playing/page/2/#findComment-1810901 Share on other sites
