Make sea stack craftable by players

While we are at it can we craft skeletons too? (mostly for the wendy skill tree thing) Cause the only way to get Skeletons is to die and if you are on a server that restarts when dying it makes it impossible to acquire new skeletons.

Im not sure why they removed the DS mechanic that if you are actively wearing a LGA you revive immediately (same animation that now Klaus does).

Wilderness mode and instant reset worlds could take advantage of this mechanic.

meat effigies (even though they are expensive for non wilsons) still allow you to do that i believe.

Maybe mining antlion boulders could have a chance of dropping sea stack seeds? That way you could make use of the ones in the caves.

You could also get them from sea stacks themselves and in larger quantities from ocean treasure. Edit: CK was also brought up as a source in the past.

Also make sea weeds drop more than one sprout.

Unfortunately no. You have to become a ghost, then in the top right next to your health bar you press the Effigy button. Only then do you spawn at it. But if you set the server to restart immediately (essentially hardcore mode) then it restarts even if you have an effigy.

I believe this is still a thing actually. Would need to test but that's technically one way to avoid dying, just difficult cause LGA now loses durability so if you wear it constantly it will break even if you never use it for the revival.

You get them from seaweeds. And there's enough seaweeds in the ocean to. Feed a small 10-15 player server. If everyone can eat meat

I think it would be good to have a way to do it, but it should be a RARE thing.

Something on the level of sprouting stone tree style.

Maybe everytime you kill barnacles or get treasure there's a very low chance of getting one.

This way it's viable to actually customize things around a bit, but it's not getting the crazy abuse if banana and stone fruit trees

If you guys are interested I've made a mod for this some time ago. It's lots of fun when I do ocean basing.

Honestly prettier than the colored variants we got on land. I think Klei could have made Marble shrubs have better potential and value if they were prettier.

You only get one sprout per sea weed killed, and they burn, so they're non-renewable. (Unless sea weeds are subject to world regrowth, which I doubt.)

Wouldn’t this lead to people abusing seaweeds as water turrets? I’ve seen people do this in the past by spawning the sea stacks.

Don't they prioritize players? Sea stacks could be restricted to a certain ocean depth if needed, but it's not like Winona doesn't exist.

All of what you said is correct. But I ma be real if you somehow get the seeds burned that's on you. Also like I said, there on average 60 of them in a world. That's more then enough.

Are they a particularly powerful thing that they need to be restricted in quantity versus any number of other things that aren't?

Even pan flutes and gems are renewable. Sea weeds are low tier compared to catapults and lureplants. Placement restrictions make them even worse.

For me, it just does not feel good to have a way for them to not be renewable, even if they are abundant. DST has made it so just about everything can be renewed in one way or another, so when there is a resource that isn't , it sticks out poorly as a result.

I myself don't mind if it's something that's slowly renewable as there are a lot to begin with, but I just don't like the idea that even if they are abundant that it should be impossible to get more.

They are extremely powerful. As a replantable resource. Free meat every 3 day. They are really interesting for farms.

Lureplant dishes (non-winter). Surf 'n' turf (trawler). Pierogi (any meat source including previous two).

Barnacles have two good dishes, but the sea stack RNG limiting where you can place your farm makes them a hassle.
