Few things that are needed to be added/changed imo

Recommended Posts

Firstly: Butterfly nets. We need desperately for a Tier 2 butterfly net that we could use to catch many more critters. It is the costliest inventory wise thing for how mundane of a task we need to do.

Pseudoscience station should have a craft for butterfly nets that would upgrade them to an ancient variety for mere living logs and thulecite fragments as lasting much longer nets. Carrying ingredients like silk, twigs and ropes to the storms takes up a lot of inventory and annoying overall for how much each one costs of different ingredients. Please ease up that struggle for us for those that want to catch plenty of bugs and not bother too much about needing craft so many of them for a silly task. If a gardening hat gets an upgrade might as well a bug net upgrade is in order.

Secondly: Nightlights and Houndius Shootius need skins. They are cool conceptually for what they are, but I wanna see some gothic or mythical aesthetic skin like a shadow hand torch or some purple lantern, while houndius would get some arcane tower or robotic ruin theme dreary structure.

Lastly: Wolfgang's skill tree boarder has no custom art besides boxes. It's just tame boxes. I'd enjoy to see some change for it.

The eye could also have an eyebrow for some attitude instead of the empty “huh” eyeball stare.

How do ya'll feel about bug nets? Little to few people seem to even mentioned them ever, I guess them being mostly irrelevant to many player's gameplay, but it is a big thing when it comes to gleams or wanting enough butterflies to get bees without suffering through crafting many.

I do enjoy making honey farms in multiplayer when I'm not in as much of a rush to do other stuff, and I *always* under-estimate how incredibly flimsy they are.

"Ok, guess I need to craft *another* one" is a thought that occurs pretty frequently.

put an option in world gen to put the old crab king

or add some sort of in game way to change the fight, maybe giving a nightmare fuel before inserting the gems so that people that like old CK'll be able to fight it even when playing on same server with people that like new CK without making them unable to fight it when playing on there

I would certainly be down for a voidcloth bugnet (as absurd as that seems). The shadow side desprately needs QOL tools to offset it from the lunar side and even something as mundane as a bug net would get a lot of value for how many normal bug nets you need otherwise (I’m remaking my beebox area and I’ve burned through dozens catching the bees….).

After the hammer, it was by far the item I wish was able to get improvements in just being more durable.

I want an improved bug net. I like setting up nice big bee areas and decorating with tons of flowers, but it’s a huge pain when I’m constantly having to craft new nets.

what if pearled automatically uses the old fight?

I feel like something like a bug net doesn't need a void craft for that. For the tool it is it doesn't exactly have a lot of uses besides catching decor stuff and gleams. Unless it gets an improvement to capture spiders and other trappable creatures with it there's little reason to get a rift content item besides just to block us from using a better net via needing to kill all shadow bosses for it -w-

Durability improved items, yea, that's what I kinda wish there was more of. Or either us being able to upgrade items that already exist by some kind of forge to add a "thulecite forged" or infused sorts of tools and weapons and items. Durability increase is something strongly desired among most frail tools.

As for void stuff I think there's no big need for too many improvements besides longer lasting void combo effect or something. Damage modifier is nice but it asks for perfect kiting and doesn't do well against enemies with numbers in mind specifically.

I never had problems with the bugnet considering it uses all basic resources that I typically carry around for general purpose stuff, but I won't say no to a bugnet upgrade. Could also go the Scrap route instead of thulecite. Volt Goat Horn + Scrap + Silk for 100 uses? Seems fair eh? Or what you suggested, Thulecite + Living Log that works too.

I've said it a billion times on this forum, but a void multitool which merges a freshwater fishing rod and bug net would be welcome. But there's a trifecta of contempt

I think the Celestial Altar is more suitable for upgrading tools like the bug net than Pseudoscience station. The relationship between the lunar and various natural creatures is closer than that of shadow. There are many mutated animals and plants on Lunar Island, but many parts of Ruins only have machinery and magic. One leans towards' civilized ', while the other leans towards' natural'.
When approaching the celestial altar, we can upgrade the bug net with moon rocks and Moon Moth Wings to become more durable, and Moon Shards can restore its durability. In the storms, we can also collect infused shards and give bug net new abilities, allowing it to capture multiple critters at once to meet the needs of players.

Would be nice the have long lasting ones with higher cost

Not only for moonstorms but for catching fireflies in the watterlog biome. Less time expend on crafting nets means more bugs per night

I think they could make better bug net, but also make it deployable like the umbralla. When deployed it could passivly catch things like bees, butterflies, moongleams, and maybe even ground critters like spiders or rabbits. It could have a design similar to a dreamcatcher and be called a 'nightmare catcher' or something.

The scythe and the umbralla are both nice, but I do think there should be at least one more dark tatter tool, and I think a better bug net would be a good choice.

If I had a repairable bug net I would pretty much never need silk again.
