Changes

  • Charming Salt Tin has been made slightly taller to fit the salt box profile.
  • Followers will no longer destroy Exotic Trees.
  • Winona’s Shadow Seeker II will now work on Big Slimy Pits in the Caves.
  • Calibrated Perceiver will now work on most things that change prefabs when deployed or used.
  • It should now be easier to deploy Boat Bumpers after other structures have already been placed.

Bug Fixes

  • Crab Guards and Knights improved sleep resistance also starts at 5 purple gems now.
  • Crab King won’t wake up to the Tail o' Three Cats’ crack anymore.
  • Fixed Crab King’s Crab Knights and Crab Guards having broken health with 0 purple gems.
  • Fixed Crab King Mob, Tower and Ice Wall health thresholds.
  • Fixed Crab King’s Cannon Towers shooting out visually different projectiles when they do not create leaks.
  • Fixed Crab King’s Cannon Towers not getting reduced boat collision damage from Yellow Gems.
  • Fixed world generation layout for repeat generations being deviant from world seed.
  • Fixed Roses spawned by the Ancient Fuelweaver or Winona getting added to world regrowth.
  • Fixed Mushrooms changing form by Ghosts Haunting them getting added to world regrowth.
  • Fixed Wurt’s Armermery, Tool Shed, and Kelp Dishes having overlapping UI when opening multiple at once.
  • Fixed crash with buffing Lunar Merm.
  • Fixed crash when Maxwell’s Shadow Sneak trap is triggered by a Batilisk.
  • Fixed swapping a deployable item with a regular item making the item's inventory icon invisible.
  • Fixed Calibrated Perceiver and Blueprints not learning new recipes while under Wickerbottom’s The Everything Encyclopedia book effects.

the bug applied to any amount of purples, their initial amount of hp was 0 instead of 200 so they were already partially dead after spawning without purples and had 200 less hp in comparison to what they've got now with purples

Broken record moment:

Could we get a fix on the sawhorse blueprint with pearl? either by :

- Allowing bottle trades with her to get the sawhorse blueprint. (once you finish the relic chair quest ofc)

- Fixing the pearl friendship reseting that happens if you hammer both relic and wooden chair to get extra sawhorse blueprints (pretty sure this is not intended lol)

So I have to “kill” the big tentacles in caves Everytime I want to use Winona’s cave teleport?

those things always kick my butt, like I legit still don’t know how to fight them without getting absolutely wrecked by baby tentacles that spawn out.

Personally I would’ve linked it to the cave exit/entrance tunnels myself that way I ain’t gotta repeatedly kill a giant tentacle that keeps respawning.

Have you tried using hutch with the spear inside ? it will melt them down for you

If you are playing Winona, you can set up some catapult nearby and they will help with the fight tremendously. There are also plenty of non-Winona strategies to deal with the big tentacle. A tamed beefalo, fugu hutch, and gunpowder are some things I can think of off-hand.

Drop a catapult or two, manual fire at the big tentacle.

The boat bumper change if hopefully was handled well is an astronomical change for us sailors, kudos!

EDIT: I have tested adding bumpers in extreme conditions, and they work no matter what. Absolutely fantastic change!

Seems like Winona with cannons would have the easiest time against the tentapillars.

Of course, but.. it’s meant to be the cave equivalent to Wormhole travel, so.. unless Wormholes are going to get updated to have an always respawning tentacle guardian you’ll have to defeat before you can enter them, this just feels like an odd Caves version of its surface counter part.

It being Winona and all though- maybe she can just inspect the large tentacle and get it to retract for her on #CharlieTeam

The easy way available to every character would be to use Hutch with a spear and lightbulb placed inside of him. This turns him into Fugu version which attacks back every time something does damage to him. It's AoE too, and the damage is enough to kill all the small tentacles around him. Position Hutch close to the big tentacle and stand on top of him, wear armor, aim for the big tentacle, let Hutch take care of the small ones. 

Another way to kill them (safe but very slow) as any character would be to kite and kill small ones like you would a swarm of bees. Once you clear the opening, attack the big tentacle a couple of times and retreat immediately to avoid getting stunlocked. 

Characters that absolutely shred big tentacles: Abigail, Wanda, Wormwood with bramble husk, elding spear Wigfrid, Willow with lunar flame, Woodie in Moose form.

Crab King changes:

Claws health doubles at 5 green gems, was 6 previously.
Cannon tower health doubles at 5 yellow gems, was 4 previously.
Crab Guards gain sleep resistance at 5 purple gems, was 4 previously.
Ice Wall health increases to 500 health at 8 blue gems, was 9 previously.
Yellow Gems now properly reduce damage done by boat velocity, starting at 5 yellow gems.

You can set up a cannon to shoot at the tentacle and kill it with a few shots
